You should get a zero to sixty feet time, Mr Webby...... but not a 0-60 MPH time.

Dragstrips tend to use the 'one foot rollout' facility that flatter your quarter mile time and ET.

Lol Martin your truck is 2.2 petrol, right? If so Parkersburg has it down as 12.5 secs for 0-60 dash. . . . . So could be interesting  ;)

What a great idea! I drive a really old, slow, heavy vehicle, which any half-decent hatchback would leave in a cloud of dust, so I'll go and wreck it at the pod, proving to myself that it really is a piece of shit. ;D

Oct. 4th. Get a proper 0-60 time. Any one ever been to this?

Not for a very long time. Twenty years ago, We were at RWYBs every 3or4 weeks, when you felt disappointed when you only got a dozen runs in rather than the 3or4 you might manage today. Several times I put 20runs on my daily Capri that was my ride to work. Stock 2.0l Capris run 17.1 seconds at about 75mph. A stock mk1 3.0l might just break into the 15s.

I bet that a strong 3.0l Omega is going to manage mid 16s if anyone drives it hard enough; autos will be easier to launch hard and consistently.

Talking of Crapis, I saw a very nice black A reg 2.8i on the M25 this morning, heading clockwise past J11 at about 6:15...  8)

You're probably only 12' from the other car, Webby, and 12' from a concrete wall on the other side.. and as has been said, there is no divider - stuff it up badly enough (or if the other person does) and you're into a wall or a car.

Having said that you'd have to drive like a complete dingle to get an Omega that out of shape, and if the other car is fast enough to get that out of shape it's probably far down the road already.. ;D

Left foot on brake, bring the revs up to just off the stall speed of the torque convertor and when the lights go green, mash the throttle then feather the wheel spin off.

I don't guarantee you'll get even one run out of the gearbox doing that, though.. ;D so probably a better idea just to treat it like a traffic light GP.

Oh and as said, I'm not sure Santa Pod offer 0-60mph times, just how long it takes you to complete the set distances (0-60ft, 0-200ft and quarter mile, usually) and your reaction time..

Ok, now there's been a few mentions of the gearbox.

On a serious note should the car not be raced often? Cos just lately I've been farking flooring it lol

So long as atf fluid is at correct level you wont have a problem,as said, put it in 2nd,sport mode on ,tc off,you will have to do a quick burn out tho before racing just to get some heat in tyres,if you are having 2nd thoughts about doing the strip,il drive the car  :y

The AR35 can certainly take a fair amount of that sort of abuse. Apparently. So I've heard. Rumour has it.

I may or may not have tested mine out a couple of times in the past, too. Still.. holding the transmission just at the stall point isn't a particularly kind thing to do ;)

Webby, driving it up the strip like you're doing a traffic light grand prix (stick it in whatever gear you desire and floor it .. I doubt it'll be going fast enough to shift into 3rd anyway) will do no damage that you wouldn't ordinarily do on the road.

Pps, bit of traffic going to work today and had to floor it to get away from dual carriage way traffic. DEFINITELY its poor until it hits 4k rpm. definitely.

in that case is that pretty much narrowed it down to FRONT multiram not working to its full capacity (even though ive observed it opening when i blip throttle)?
