Having a really bad day today,as the car is still playing up,and to top it all off,i went to change the oil today and couldent get the cap off the oil filter housing,must of spent 3 hours trying,and in the end the thing totally split in half under the pressure >:(.Anyone have any idea how much new or if anyone has a spare to let me know how much. :y

you can convert it to take a satndard filter how is in the mainatance section

I've heard there's a standard filter conversion kicking around, but how you do it :-/
Someone may be able to shed some light.
Did you use a 36mm socket?

Not really interested in doing that mate,just want it sorted now or it has to go,and then back to the good old veccy. :y

24mm pete,but the thing was that seized it could not take the stress in the end,and the fact that there is not very good access doesent help either. :y

24mm pete,but the thing was that seized it could not take the stress in the end,and the fact that there is not very good access doesent help either. :y

24mm!! Must be different to the DTi :y
I know what you mean by access, though you wana try changing the diesel filter on mine >:( >:( >:( >:( Fortunatly it's only once a year :) The cap on the filter housing should only be 20Nm, sounds like yours was 700Nm :D

Yeah,definately felt like it pete;D,but actually says 15nm on the cap.It was that tight the whole filter housing was turning instead. :y
