Title: This is what TB needs.
Post by: Field Marshal Dr. Opti on 27 September 2017, 15:10:46
His XJ is a fine car let down by a derv lump sourced from a narrow boat or cement mixer. ;) :D

Starting at £93000 the XJR575 falls well within his budget. :y

I believe project 8 will be priced around the £140000-£150000 mark and be LHD only.

Does sound good though. :y

XE is a squashed version of the rather nice XF.  The XJ and XJL are bigger again (and too long for most carparks), but do have lots of toys to play with.

Trouble with the XJRs (the only one now to get the full fat 5.0l SC lump) is going to be that sub 15mpg economy isn't sustainable given my mileage...  ...and measly 28ppm work give me :(

Isn't the latest XF actually a stretched XE platform? I realise they were designed together but the XE was launched first ::) . I like them both(and the XJ) but the XE has better proportions.

I think even you would struggle to use so much petrol, despite your foot to the floor driving style. Take a few 'economical driving tips' from that nice Mr Tunnie. ::) ;)

When I read the title of the thread, I thought it was going to be about blood pressure tablets and a positive attitude.  :P ;D

28ppm seems a rather strange amount  :-\

Probably a tax efficiency thing, in their favour of course...

Indeed, car mileage allowances always mystify me - seems overly complex & the rules keep changing. I've got a letter somewhere from the Inland Revenue telling me that my company car wasn't a taxable benefit - mind you that was 1979 & a lot of tax has flowed since then!

I'm sure he remembers to claim the balance to the HMRC approved rate of 45ppm (first 10k) from HMRC directly on a tax return  ??? ;)

PAYE for a large company, that's automatic for me. But its only the tax on the 17p difference, not 17ppm ;). And as a poor 20% taxpayer, that ain't a lot :(

Seems people are getting high teens on average, so I know I'll struggle to get that.
