You won't go far wrong with a Signum.

Film star looks combined with race car performance. :)

There is NOTHING to like about the god awful Vectra-C, except perhaps space.  An awful ride, and anything more powerful than the 2.0DTi engine shows the (lack of) capabilities in the chassis.

........but other than these minor faults I think you're suggesting the Sigvec is a fine motor car. :)

It may be too late for Ronnyd but a Signum will make the owner very attractive to women. :)

Facelift 1.8 will serve you well :y

Estate is Omega sized and has slightly longer wheelbase, (more rear legroom and same as Signum), than saloon/hatch :y

Design/Elite best specs.

1.8 is manual only but will easily do 200k if looked after. Unless VXR, 2.8 is auto only, but is the only petrol v6 option.

If you must have a diseasel, the 1.9 8v (120 bhp) lump is less troublesome than the full fat 16v (150bhp), and is available manual or auto.

Avoid the 2.2 petrol... different engine to the Omega desmond and has fuel pump problems which is £££ to replace.

Parts are cheap enough, watch for busted springs and check MoT history carefully.

Facelift and ideally '57/'08/'58 and you won't go far wrong :y

The 2.6 and 3.2 v6s from the Omega were fitted to PFL Vectra-Cs.  The 3.2 is a hoot in a Vectra-C, just drive it full on loon mode, turn on full lock and control the amount of steering on throttle.  But I can't tolerate any Vectra C for long before my back is broken.

Only the 3.2 ::)

2.6 was never offered in the C. Facelift cars are nicer, imho, so didn't menton PFL in my suggestions ;)

Car was already a Cat C anyway Dave, so only worth pennies. Now i have matched the new front dents with the existing rear ones  ;D there is now too much damage to make repairs viable. Unfortunately DG , the Vectra which is nearest to me is a 2.2 petrol so may have to look a bit further afield. How  about a Saab 9-5?
