NEC Classic Car Show held every November-believe they also have some classic motorbikes there also.at least they did last time I went many years ago-and they also have a large autojumble area too.
-
Just had a look and I can’t believe you have to pay £12 a day parking. When i go up in January for the furniture show it is always free parking. That in itself puts me off going cause im a tight bastard ;D
-
Last time I went it was £9 for parking, but I agree and think it's wrong to charge for parking when you're attending a show there especially as it's about £20[on the door]to get in,then the rip off prices for food/drinks.

Try going to Wembley for an event. Need a mortgage for a burger. >:(

I worked at Earls Court and Olympia over 20 years ago, it was £10 a day then. I used to go into my office on Monday morning, and there was as much as £40,000 in the safe from the car parks over the weekend.
-
Bring your own packed lunch or use the pie stalls in the halls as we have found that they are the cheapest way to eat. :y
Best way to go is via the train as the station is right there
Yes, fat fingers on keys ;D, I did mean this year, 2018
-
Running an old Vauxhall, it's probably a good idea to set off early... A year early is a bit much though :D

Compared to goodwood its a bargain :y
-
IIRC there is a train station, or perhaps a car park a few minutes walk away that was cheaper - but that was a few years ago now.

I think its now £16 for parking if not pre-booked ;)

I wouldn't call either of them expensive, although the extra for parking at the NEC is a kick in the teeth.
Goodwood in particular is good value for what you get. Anyone who has organised even a small show at a rented venue will know just how much it costs: just renting an empty field for a weekend horrified many of our club members who thought we could put on the entire weekend for that amount ::)
-
It's not the admission cost that puts me off-I'm sure the NEC isn't exactly a cheap venue to hire-but the rip off parking charge then imposed although you're attending the show.Last time I went anywhere on a train was when I went to Wellingborough[or near there]to collect the Omega and I said then that'd I'd not go on one of those awful contraptions ever again.

Would both fit the bill. But if there's a car full of you, parking is probably cheaper than the train fare. :y

You don't have to travel by train, just use the car park.
-
You mean.... Walk?! :o
Not possible I'm afraid. I have a figure to maintain, candidate go exercising willy nilly ;D
-
The car park charges, are to pay for un-educated numbtys in hi-viz coats who are called carpark attendants, and all the other useless nit-wits that parade around in hi-viz clothing, doing their best to get in your way. And why do they always use the carpark that's so far away from the hall that's hosting the event you are going too. Do"ah to make the "free buses" seem a good idea....
-
Went yesterday - biggest show I remember in years with a lot of vendors and a lot of used car dealers.. damned expensive to get in at £30 a head, though, which makes arguing about a few quid for parking a bit silly ;D
Parked in the shopping centre and had lunch there, though, which meant parking cost £2 for the whole day. :y

Good show this year but very draining pyhsically
We are loking at what next years theme cars are to be.
The Viceroy we had on show attracted as much attention as the LC always does.
It made one blokes day as he used to own it in the 90,s
