Hello everyone. Just got an Omega 2.2 CD auto Y Reg. Been try for years to get another after my beloved 2.5 V6 L Reg gave up the ghost. Can I ask if the Cruise up grade will work on my model - posteed by "The boy"

Looking forward to a new era of motoring and making new friends through the Forum

Cruise upgrade on a 2.2 should just be a stalk change, and perhaps enabling by Tech 2.

Nice to see another Facelift owner

You will see a lot of Tunnie, Auto Addict, Hillper and Taxi Driver as fellow 2.2s

Hi Pete,

Do you mean the addition of cruise?

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1152953478

It's very easy.  You will need to visit your local dealer.

Walk in, and confidently ask if someone has five minutes to spare as your  cruise needs enabling with the Tech2 machine.

Suggest that you'll be happy to provide beer tokens in exchange.

Honestly, it cost me £5 and the 'mech' was quite happy!

Cruise.  I love it.  Use it all the time.  In town, on motorways.

Good luck!

Welcome to the site :)

As for cruise, I've had trouble getting dealers to do 'beer money' jobs as normally you get stuck with some faceless receptionist first :).  If you are able to walk around the back, you may be able to persuade a mechanic to do it, if his boss ain't around ;)

I would acquire a stalk (you need to 4 wire type, not the 2 wire one for diesels), and see if it works. Some ECUs are pre-enabled, some need Tech2...

I think that I will have a problem getting to the mechanic too, my local dealer is reception armed  and getting round to see a mechanic will be hard. Will keep you all posted on the outcome :-/
