Could not find any replacement part for rear subframe rear bushings, so made a patent from old bushing casing and from modified new dif to subframe bushings. Still need to grind and paint and then test..

Anything is better than teared originals, I guess.. Will some day make better ones, these are just for quick repair and testing.

Report back :y

Well, it's not perfect, but will do for awhile.

Bushings are bit too soft, no much support when cornering (can feel rear to move little, but does not effect handling too much).
Also clearances are too small, subframe fitting points knock a little when accelerating.

But resonance that could be felt with old bushing while slowing down in certain speed gear on, wanished.

Next I'm gonna make some CAD drawings for new casing for bushing with right clearances to subframe and try to find PU-bush to fit to casing.

Can somebody help me to get dimensions of the rear subframe rear end bushings? I didn't have any tools to measure them yesterday when I had a change to do that.

So if someone has one of those in hand, could you measure just general dimensions, spacing between mounting holes to chassis and how deep bushing sleeve surface is from bushing casing (or offset from mounting hole centre).
Professional pic of wanted dimensions: https://www.dropbox.com/s/59pd9pc3nm6n0nd/2016-06-03%2014.07.54.jpg?dl=0

Thanks!

Fitted a set of front drop links, which cured a niggly knock.  :y

Made use of the good weather and continued with the back-end refurb......  after spending far too may hours cleaning surface rust, prepping and painting, managed to get the rear bumper crash bar back on the car.

Looking a bit better now.

If I can remove the wheelarch screws on my estate then ill probably have much worse greeting me when the rear bumper is finally off. and if it's anything like the sills and chassis legs  :'( and if I cant hold off the rust for as long as possible then i'm afraid it's bye bye car.

This is what I found when I moved the bumper to repair some accident damage/previous poor repairs:

As always, it was worse than it looked: the entire flange was barely attached and both inner and outer panels needed new metal.

Which is easy enough, this took about 30minutes:

My master-plan for replacing original rear subframe rear bushings.

I will use Powerflex 99-112 95 SHa bushings, needs to be shortened a bit. They are on the way to me, hope I can assemble these this weekend and fit.

This edge attach towards subframe

This edge goes towards gas tank

May be that I dont weld that crossmember above where subframe attaches to avoid it to touch subframe or cut it a bit from center. Will see..

currently got the elite sorn'd and whilst waiting for the irmscher kit and a few other things to be sorted had put the battery on charge for a few days.then in a ceremony which I liken to that in the Kelly's Heroes film in which they start up the tiger tanks for 15 mins to keep them sorted I fired the v6 up only to be greeted with this.

luckily it seems one of the easier of the many p.a.s. pipes in the engine bay to replace.(it's the rubber one without the heat protection that's gone)
