As far as I know, they are not locked to any network.  They are however only single band (900) so the only 2 networks that will work are O2 or Vodaphone.

Correct, O2 and Vodaphone both use the GSM900 network, whereas Orange use GSM1800, which is reportedly a better network, using more transmitters.  :o

GSM1800 need more transmitters to work ;)

o2 and voda will work fine with ccrt700. Orange and T-Mobile won't work.

I tried a few cards about 6 months ago, but they were all PAYG.
Neither orange, T-Mobile, or O2 would work on my CCRT700.
The only PAYG card I could get to work was a Vodaphone, although I have since heard of someone getting a Tesco PAYG card to work. Strange as I thought Tesco used O2's network.
Anyway, hope some of this helps.

No reason o2 won't work as o2 uses GSM900...

from a phone / IT perspective rather than omega viewpoint - your 700 series will only work on o2 and vodaphone.

It wont work on the others - i work for one of the others and we at least would block the sim if it was used in an unlocked carphone - as the sim sends a signal telling the network its being used in a rogue phone.

Solution - buy a cheap payg sim for the other two!
