Bet it was the backs of the disks , they always corrode and pit  Wire brush the pipes and grease up .. Well done hip hip hurrah 

Yep....that usually seems to be the case. The family Corsa was exactly as you describe.

They already have the technology so it's only a matter of time before driverless cars are commonplace.

Two advisory items.

001.....Front brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened.
002.....Nearside rear brake pipe slightly corroded.

How much for front discs and pads?........Easy DIY fit?

It passed, don't be fiddling with it. All brake discs are worn, pitted or scored.

Good result.

I'm pretty good with discs and pads, and if they don't come to more than £40 I could be tempted to get my spanners out.

I need to get a smaller car for a while, unfortunately.

Cheaper to run, certainly.

But probably far more expensive to purchase in the first place.

Almost three years ago my local Vauxhall dealer charged £330 including  a new GM w/pump
After I'd paid he told me that he'd f**ked up his sums and undercharged me.

Expect to pay the thick end of £550 at a dealer.

The dowager Omega had an advisory for 'weeping rear shocks' at it's last MOT.

I can't see any oil but I've given them a wipe down just to be on the safe side.

Can one of you fine gentlemen point me in the direction of a screen for a Toshiba Satellite C55-A-1HM laptop. It's only 2 months old but the screen is 'donald ducked' and Toshiba have refused to replace it under warranty.

I've looked online, but I want to be sure of getting the right screen.....I believe that it is 15.6 inches.

Is it an easy fix?

You are going to have to remove the busted screen to get the number off of the back as there seems to be quite a few variants that Toshiba used, Try looking on you tube for instructions how to take it apart, quite a few Toshiba screens available on a certain auction site.
