Expect most on here have heard about the claims about what's been alleged with Oxfam , talking about this at work this morning and quite honestly none of us were surprised.
Corruption everywhere easy to spend others cash.

I worked in East and Southern Africa in the late 90,s and early 00,s, and Charity, Aid and NGO workers were a common sight going about in their nice new Land Cruisers, which got parked up at the most expensive hotels at night. 

Apparently a salary of USD5-6000 a month plus expenses wasn't uncommon for expat workers!

Was looking on a site yesterday showing the salary of chief execs of charities. Top man is Paul Nurse of  Cancer Research at 140k p.a.
Used to take my donations to Age U.K. (94k) but now take it to the Sally Army (10k, but he does get his rent and car paid as well).

Maybe if they were to cut the £millions that they spend on prime time adverts?

My late SIL was persuaded to pay a monthly amount by DD, it wasn,t long before they were writing and phoning her trying to persuade her to double her donations.

I read on another forum I frequent. Chaps auntie had allegedly promised an animal charity a certain amount on her death but when she popped had left a smaller sum to them, they contested her will and tried to claim the majority of her ( substantial) estate for 4 years before eventually losing in court. Greedy buggers !!

I only give to local charities that I can have some working knowledge of these days, I have worked for large charities myself and first class travel was positively encouraged

I donate to one charity Lincolnshire Essex & Trent Boxer rescue having had Boxers for the last 30 + years, our last 3 dogs have come from them. I have seen the work & effort that goes into turning these animals around & won't be pressured into donating to " tin rattlers" or by the adverts shown on the television. A few heads will roll over this Oxfam do & a lot of pervs will be worried methinks.

In my whole lifetime,as a nation, we have been giving to "hard up" poor African countries, O and India, has any of that money stopped or helped?? YES it's just improved the large scale corruption in these countries...

I thought charity giving was nationalized by CaMoron where he forces us to compulsorily give 2% of our taxes in the form UK Overseas corruption funds Aid which after the 'aid agencies and consultants' have been very well paid along with their 'assistants' for their 'personal services', it goes on such worthy causes as Jihadist dancing lessons, so they bond better prior to attacking and killing us, yoga classes for middle-class Indian housewives, climate fraud boondoggles and funding corrupt dictators lifestyles and pensions to a standard they aspire to.

It seems that this is already dropping out of sight!    There's suggestions of child abuse, so where's the mass hysteria of the likes that the President's Club dinner provoked!    Where are all the virtuous, self righteous lefties who popped up all over the media to condemn a few drunken blokes who got a bit 'handy' at a charity dinner?   

There should be a rigorous and thorough investigation by the authorities and if any of these people have a case to answer, then they should be charged and tried in court.  After all having sex with a minor overseas is a criminal offence in the same way as if the offence happened here.  Who ever they are!

Yep, this is what worries me. Oxfam claiming they "investigated", moved people to other jobs, etc. Do the CEOs of these organisations believe that they are above the law, or lord and master of all they survey?

If you run an organisation and find evidence that suggests that your employees have been acting illegally, you don't launch some internal arse-covering investigation, you hand them over to the local law enforcement agencies and give them your full cooperation!

Very correct! 

In business I met some extremely ruthless men, and one women ( apart from me!! ), who would always make sure nothing got in their/ our way.  It was dog eat dog, in a game where only the fittest would survive.  Anyone who got in our way would be found to be "failing" in some way if they could not perform to the standard we wished, and disposed of, by of course legitimate methods!  In those days my socialist inclinations were frequently pushed aside by my very right wing stance, which actually came out during some psychological profiling all senior business managers went through. Right of Attila The Hun was one assessment of me!!

However I once met one really scary American guy in business who just ozzed ruthlessness and single minded thought to succeed no matter what got in his way.  He was the strong very silent type who just stored, surveyed, and assessed mentally every one of us who he met.  He was the Vice President of our parent company, the multi-billion dollar American Brands.  Now I really did believe he could kill if necessary, or, like any Mafia boss, get some flunky to do the deed.  Frightening!!
