You've mentioned this before, Jon, about 12 months ago? Watched it then, I think.

Back to this film again, I would imagine a lot of us could relate to this mans frustrations not only in the benefits claiming scenario, just dealing with utility companies nowadays is bad enough . I had a short period of unemployment in 1991 had it not been for the fact that I was fortunate enough to have very little outgoings at the time it could have gone very bad for my young family  then.

Puts me in mind of  Bernard Hill (Yosser Hughes in  the boys from the blackstuff)........ 'gissajob'

They did. They made him Captain of the Titanic and we all know how that ended.

My wife volunteers on Reception at the CAB in a Northern town.

To say I hate the Murdering Tory Bastards who have presided over the systematic shitting on people from a great height including the windrush farce and the evil that is the rollout of Universal credit.

The numbers of people who have taken their own lives because the system has failed to help them is higher than you imagine.

Imagine having mental health issues to start with, then be told that your claim is denied, then after appeal it's accepted, but then you have an 8 week delay and your landlord is starting eviction proceedings due to none payment of rent, you have NO food in the cupboards and no way to top up the electric. And then they opps up your payments because they can.

And yes: I, Daniel Blake made me cry.

Anyone that isn't moved to tears is the sort of person we need to lead the Government - Hard faced ineffective bastards.

Who, given a few years, you'd be calling "Murdering <insert party here> bastards", no doubt.  ::)

You spotted the irony.  We are already run by Hard Faced (and yet weak in so many ways because they are spineless) Ineffective Bastards Already.
