Point of note regarding HGVs and red lights... as long as the light is not red when the front of the cab passes the light, then it doesn't count. Obviously in an ideal world everyone would be preparing to stop at amber, but allowances must be made for the fact that it takes time for the back of even a rigid hgv to reach the point that the cab passed 20-45+ feet earlier, and also that the stopping distances of a fully loaded truck can be alot closer to the Highway Code distances than your average car ;)

Doesn't count in London, if the unit passes a green and the trailer catches a red, or is stuck in the yellow box a ticket follows., if the junction has a camera, and tfl very rarely, cancel a yellow box ticket.

Hard statistics are normally very different from perception, where something we notice we think is much more common than it normally is.

This is a point I make to people with websites, use ALL the available data to see what is really happening, not what you think is happening, where a couple of sales have caught your eye.

Not going to argue, seen tickets and photo's.
You also need to know tfl only see black and white, there is no middle ground. Tis why transport company's who regularly work in London, can have 1 office bod continually, protesting tickets, be it parking, box cameras.

A HVG, just like any other vehicle must not block a traffic light controlled junction at anytime.... that I fully understand and agree with, but, a traffic light camera, which must show the traffic light, entrance to the junction and exit(s) from the junction cannot be used as evidence to prosecute the driver of any vehicle if the front axle has pased the point of entry on a Green traffic light.  That makes perfect sense, especially when you consider (as we are) long vehicles where it may take them +/- 2 seconds for the rear of the vehicle to pass the entrance to the controlled junction.

Seeing the tickets and photo's of vehicles 'stuck' in the box because the driver didn't allow room for their exit is one thing..... to be prosecuted for the rear of a vehicle passing the entrance to a junction (where the exit is clear) is another.

It may seem like I'm splitting hairs, but I don't want your initial comment to be misunderstood.  :y

Twixer mode on.
splitting hairs by posting, part of the act, when was the last time you drove something larger than a trucking wheelbarrow thro an allotment, let alone a max weight, or over length hgv thro the worst- place 'in the world' to drive an hgv let alone a trucking wheelbarrow.
Forget what that waffle says tfl don't give a toss,
As for being able to judge were the traffic in front will stop so you don't block a box junction.
mmm "I just wait at these lights while there enough space and time to cross" " Oi what you doing mate, move along"
"I cant not enough space"
"here's a ticket for stopping on a red route"

Real life, scenario's,
