From memory, I think it was the Elring ones that used to go hard very quickly, and leak prematurely...

With the supply of certain parts becoming nls, beggars can't be chossers,, and if GM still have them,, gawd knows how much they will be.

.Rinz was oe supply

Yep, nice looking car.

It will be interesting to see how you get on with it over time.

What headlights do you have? I am unimpressed withmy bi xenons. I guess LEDs are the go to now.

It's got Bi-xenons that go round corners for some reason, How I've managed all these years going round corners I don't know..

The DS had them in the 70s  ;)

The French connection,, Being as Vauxhall is now part of PSA,,

Omega General Help / Re: 3.2 Elite - Surface rust in bores
« on: 23 March 2024, 11:30:31 »
You worry too much.

Bolt it back together, but do an oil change after the first start.

I would probably have removed the surface rust with some fine scotchbrite soaked in engine oil, if I bothered at all.

 This ^^^^

Stop looking for a fault that isn't there

General Car Chat / Re: So what have you done to your car today?
« on: 22 March 2024, 14:26:16 »
Taking a car for a brisk drive in the wet on Branded Tyres isn't very exciting, now fit some Cheap ol', Chinqy Stonking Horse, and that'll get you old duffers heart racing, and maybe the Angels won't catch you as they won't know we're your going.  ;D

I'm assuming it needs new seals on the piston, try these people

Omega General Help / Re: Head gasket?
« on: 22 March 2024, 13:47:10 »
Weren't the 2.5 and 3.0 of certain year prone to failure of the back of the 246 gasket :-\
Early 98MY 3.0l (built in 1997) were prone to a HG failure allowing coolant to escape at the back of pot 6.  That particularly failure causes no other symptoms aside from coolant loss and associated steam.

I've done a few 3.0L head gaskets,  as was stated back cylinders on both banks,.
