Cooling system switches and sensors
« on: 18 July 2017, 11:54:41 »

Car -99, MV6, X30XE, climate control: Automatic

Is there some electrical resistant values for temperature sensors in the "bridge" and for sensors/switches at the radiator? To confirm they are working properly?

Side question:
The fan on the engine side is almost always on when climate control is set to cold(low is not needed)
The two fans on the front goes on at ~96-97 degree maybe not on full speed can't really tell as no experience of those going full speed.
Are the fans working correctly?

Aren't those a bit upside down? I'm pretty sure mine is the opposite, the two fans in the front are always on if AC is on and the engine side fan turns on only when the engine is actually hot.

AC on - fans on low speed, go off with ign
Just above midpoint on gauge (so 96C for PFL/MFL, 92C for FL), low speed fans, will keep after ign off until its cooled rad sufficiently.
Approaching or above 100C, high speed fans. Drops to low speed when ign switched off as above.

Bosch electric pump from package 2.7 Ohms, when running ~400mA, running good.
Bosch electric pump (might be original -99) ~130 Ohms, when running ~900mA, sounds like running half speed.
Some fancy brand electric pump (1 year old) 9.8 Ohms, when running  no mA tested but sound horrible and lets some water trough seals.

More information coming after I get those sensors in my hands

Maybe the front fans will not spin when motor isn't in operation temperature yet when ac on?  ???
Otherwise the fans then works fine I guess

All fans are spinning at some point.

Temp sensor smaller at the bridge ~~0.9kohm at ~~25 degree
Temp sensor larger at the bridge ~~2.9kohm at ~~25 degree

No significance difference between old and new, resistant descending when heat applied.
