replacement alternato

just removed the alternator from my 03 2.6 auto estate.bosch 0124515049 is part number of old unit ,looking on ebay for cost effective recon .any body out there who can give me a few pointers .ps not a regulater help :) :)

That's surprising, as the 'only' way they ever fail is the regulator, and the bearings can get old, all available very cheaply. Didn't know there was any other way they can fail  :-\

after 4 beers 2 bottles of wine I agree . will go down that route.just being bone idle .will keep site posted.

I was lucky, drove from lake district with low charging 12.2 volts. packed up 14 miles from home {lode Cambridge}but still got home with dash flickering and steering going stiff.new regulator coming from jcr supplies  specialist in bosch auto partsin Walthamstow.

I had a total alternator failure, at work, where I could fully charge the battery.

On a fully charged battery, I drove home 22 miles, with everything turned off. It died just as I pulled into the driveway.

regulator arrived sat morning,fitted and tested by early doors all ok :)
