Best place to get number plates
« on: 24 July 2012, 14:27:01 »

Are they all the same spec re construction? They all seem to peel off and bubble away from the Perspex in time.

Is it worth serking out decent ones or shall I just go to Halfords...?

Intend to stick on with double sided pads.

Got a Set I got off the Net, and was rubbish, delivery was crap too, about 25 notes IIRC.

Last Set I went along to the local Car Spares place 18 pounds, good quality and done in 2 Hours.

Not sure about Halfrauds though.

I went to www.fancyplates.com many years ago for the plate on the MR2 - it was still fine, six years later. Bought the trailer plate for the Omega and plates for the M3 there, too.

Order the BS marked road legal ones, of course. Turn up in one or two days. Oh and the sticky pads they give you are the stickiest things I've ever known, unlike Halfords sticky pads which stay on for all of five minutes..

The old lady's TriBSA can legally wear silver on black plates  :)

@ Chris,
I get our plates from Blackbushe, never had a problem with any of them and they aren't fussed about meaningless paperwork either.

I think that's where my current set came from. Made while you wait and, as said, no BS hoops to jump though. :y
