Well Andy it has four wheels apparently and an engine, so what is the problem?? ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

That takes me right back to my childhood when I was fascinated about these machines, although I did like the true Bubble car more.  If I remember correctly they had no reverse gear, so if you drove right up close to another object you were trapped as you couldn't reverse and you could not lift up the glass bubble front!! :o :o :o

I remember adults taking the mick out of them constantly! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

Possibly true for some, I'm no expert, but some (Bond) ran the engine backwards for reverse, so you had as many gears in reverse as you did going forwards .... a aver scary idea!!!  :o  :o  ;D  ;D

What odd machines eh Andy! :D :D

When I wrote my post above I was thinking that I could remember a bubble car with a completely glass front door.  However, I cannot find any pictures of one, just the half glass versions! :o :o :o

Is my memory fooling me??  Was there completely glass fronted ones or not??  My memory is saying "yes", but is this right?  ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

I know I shouldn't really contradict a lady but   ::)  ::)...... I think that on this occasion your memory is playing tricks on you ;)  ;). The Issetta, Heinkel, Trojan all had a half & half glass/steel door at the front. The Messerscmit (sp?) had a big perspex dome on top .....  :y

Thanks Andy, you must be right as I still cannot find any evidence of my "memorized" type of bubble car ever existing!  Perhaps I just saw some form of prototype on television (black & white and a tiny screen of course!!) which never became 'fact'! ::) ::) ::)  Childhood is a long time ago of course! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;) ;)

That little side window is probably worth a couple of hundred on it's own.
