Hi, my name is Chris, I've found this place because of a problem with my mum's 1999 2.0 petrol Omega... Cambelt snapped cause the waterpump seized and I need to know if it's a non-interference engine or not.
Always best to get right to the point I think ;)

Sorry, it is probably bad news - but you are likely to receive lots of help here, so welcome!

Thanks for the reply. Might be putting something up in the for sale section soon... It's a shame as the car is in really good condition... But if it's gonna need a top end rebuild or maybe even replace a piston or two, it's just not worth it 😫

Hello and a warm welcome to you :y
As for your mum's Omega, as has already been said it may well be bad news you will get on here. With V6's you certainly badly damage the engine when the cam belt snaps. With 2.0's I believe the same happens, but wiser people on here will explain more. ;)

Perhaps it would be easier to perform a heart transplant? There could well be someone on here with a rotten body, etc., but with an otherwise good engine. As you are new here, I don't think you can advertise for a suitable engine, but if the right person reads this.....

Welcome. Bad news about the for sale section too. Members aren't allowed to post for sale ads until they have 250 posts.
