Bargain Elite Estate, for forum members....
« on: 31 May 2009, 13:05:32 »

99, T Elite Minifacelift Estate in Blue

All the toys, incl BOSE, Cruise, memory seats, climate, computer - you know the spec.

MOT until mid June (soon due) and Tax until end October -just recently taxed.

Great bodywork - NO rust, apart from on the badge on the boot and the usual few stone chips on the bonnet. The wheel arch liners are also a bit detatched from the bumper but it's never been a problem.

It has had, in the last 2000 miles -

3.0 Cams (18bhp improvement)
New GM Oil cooler
New head gaskets and head refurbs
New timing belt kit, aux belt, w/pump - fitted this month by me
New manifold gaskets (proper metal ones)
New Wishbones
Gearbox software updated (by Mark, some time ago) and level checked by me recently.
Spark Plugs
Oil and Filter
Coolant bridge seals, front and rear transfer pipe seals
New thermostat

Alignment recently done - not at WIM, but all appears straight, with no uneven wear.

Towbar fitted and electrics wired in - I've personally only ever towed a light camping trailer with it.

Starts on the first turn, every time, with no fault lights. All of the instruments work as they should and no missing pixels on the screen.

The front tyres are brand new - couple of weeks old - and the rears are fine for some time yet with no uneven wear.

The price for this car, which is non negotiable - is £600

This is due to the following Items I am aware of that need looking at. There is NOTHING seriously wrong with the car, just a collection of very small jobs needed to make it A1.

Air-conditioning. May need a re-gas and the system checking out - it's never worked for me.

Oil filler neck seal wants replacing at it's leaking a bit, (30 second job, matter of pence) - I will try to do before it's taken away.

The one way valve on the front vacc tank has seen better days. As a result, multiram operation not good and not as much kick as their should be. Few pounds off a breaker, and a couple of torx bolts, v easy job.

The oil filter seal leaks when the car is switched off - this will be rectified with a new oil filter. (Again, I'll try and do this before she goes - with some fresh oil).

The heat-shield on the cat occasionally rattles a bit at idle only (I promise you, it IS the heatsheld, it stops completely when you hold it). Probably just wants the beggar cutting off :D

Sometimes a little clonk from the OSF when going over bumps - suspected droplink (£10 or £20 a pair)?and two bolts.

The wishbones, being honest, wasn't the best job I've ever done  :-[ - I didn't have new bolts (for the pinch bolts) like you're supposed to and I re-used the old ones. I also re-fitted one of them a different way. All totally secure, torqued, and dosn't affect safety or make any difference - but I want to be honest when I think something is not A1.

I'm taking a considerable loss on this one, but I don't mind at all if she goes to someone who will enjoy her.

Personally think she's a steal at £600 - the only reason for sale is because

A) after buying this, I accepted a facelift Elite MV6 project - and due to personal preference, I much prefer facelift (and 3.0 MV6!)

B) I'm getting my ears chewed off about driveway space......   ;D

Note, private VRM belongs to another member - the original "T" plate is fitted....

Hiya Dazzler

As per the ad - MOT until mid June (soon due) and Tax until end October -just recently taxed.

Mileage, my apologies, I missed that one. It's high, on circa 180k, but you would easily pass it off for a 90k car - especially with the refurb work just done.. :y

Hi mate
Nice looking motor, is their any chance of interior pictures, does she have sat nav and is the hard drive positioned in the tailgate roof instead of between the rear seats, i take it you have both keys and the usual booklets and codes.
Look forward to hearing from you
                 Cheers
                            Simon  :y

Here you go Simon.
It has all the booklets, and the radio code. Pretty sure I have a spare key somewhere - need to check.

Not aware of any sat nav - although it does have a sim card slot for the in car phone.

2.5 Elites never came as standard with Satnav (Only the 3.0/3.2 did).  The correct Satnav for this is the CARiN, and on a 1999 model (which this must be due to ccrt700 stereo) the cd unit would normally live up in the headlining if it was fitted
