Mv6 Bumper
« on: 27 October 2019, 12:10:18 »

Hi Guys, yes I still have my 2000 Black Mv6. It's beginning to show its age in terms of appearance. . My next door neighbour who unfortunately wears rather thick lensed glasses and has no concept of how to pull out of a parking space correctly  recently tore into corner of the Os front bumper scraping the wing in the process. As it's new 19 plate Kia Stonic she said she will pay to have mine repaired and is not going to contact her Insurance. Does anyone have an Mv6 Bumper, I suppose I could get mine repaired. But what's the average cost of having a Bumper resprayed. Any help appreciated.
John

Apologies  buddy my last message was a bit short and abrupt. 4 week ago I had a heart operation. I'm currently not allowed to drive for 8 weeks  :-[ Hospital says if I have to perform emergency stop b4 that time it could result in bad outcome for the surgery.
Have you any idea of the cost of stripping and repainting a Bumper these days
Cheers John.

Hope all is well with you. :y

As for having a bumper resprayed, I don't know, best ringing a local body shop and asking., :) That's as best I know, there might be others who may know, along at some point.

Had mine resprayed last year at local back street place.
Made a decent job and charged me £165 cash so I was satisfied and doubt tax man saw any of it too

I think £150-200 a 'panel' for a quality job is a sort of good going rate...of course it's easy to charge that much for a poor job, too, so price is no guarantee of quality! Depending what standard you want, it's like anything, try and have a look at an example of the place's work before handing over pennies.

Are you good for a MV6 towing eye cover?

I know. I'm thinking of flogging it and retiring off the profits. But I need time it right, before there's more bumpers left than actual cars/owners  :D
