Christ. I was fuming enough when I went into our local emporium of value-led economy purchases (otherwise known as B and M) and found half the aisles dedicated to gift sets and chocolate...

Anyway talking of the C word and I mean the rude word for female genitalia rather than the religious holiday in December. :)

And the biggest lying, cheating, duplicitous, political chicanery I have ever seen, the see you next tuesday C of them all Appeaser May's Chequers, which if it goes through will make us all much poorer where we are a vassal state of the EU with no say whatsoever on what the EU imposes on us. >:( >:( >:(
One MP has publically shown the letter to the 1922 Committee of no confidence in May, hopefully another 47 will be there by the end of next week. :y :y :y

It will be watered down further before it goes through.
The EU hasn't finished giving us a good kicking yet. :)

The year comes in three parts. Sept to Dec is Christmas. January to April is Easter and May till August is the summer holidays. All great excuses for retailers to relieve us of our hard earned.

Depressingly true.
I'm away to shoot myself. :)

None of it matters when you have unlimited funds.

I'm always baffled by the 'wealthy Opti' bit.
This is the Omega forum. The clue to wealth (or lack of it) is in the name. A Vauxhall car that hasn't been built for 15 years.
I imagine the good people of the Vectra/Signum forums are even more piss poor. :)
Yes...I'll need to top myself. :)

I agree with you. If we forget the jag and the paying off of the mortgage and your financial portfolio, you're as poor as the rest of us. ;D

I'm pretty sure that by definition a castle has more than four bedrooms and was built prior to 1986. ;D

I suppose it all depends on your definition of wealth.
Wealth to me is somebody who owns a tropical island or two, have their own 747, and also own Chelsea football club.......oh, and pay SFA in the way of tax. :)
Owning a car made by little brown men who can't afford shoes does not imply wealth.
-
I always think " comfortably off " sums up the position some people find themselves in eventually once mortgage kids & other cash draining items are taken care of , you can afford most things within reason but you are wise enough to decide if you really need them.

I must admit that SWMBO and me (bad grammar :D) have found ourselves much more comfortable in retirement due to having no mortgage. The only thing i will say is that i,m not cash rich but property rich and you can,t spend that. Unless you go to the equity release thieves. >:(

.
Definitely right there , that equity release nonsense is the perfect way to lose everything you've worked hard for , surprised how many people are taken in by it , the compound interest will take virtually every penny . Only one winner the thieving scumbag companies that offer it.
