General Discussion Area / Credit Card Agreement
« on: 14 July 2022, 18:00:25 »
We’ve noticed that you've been managing your account well, staying within your credit limit and making your payments on time. So, from 23 August 2022 we'll reduce your annual rate of interest for purchases, cash and balance transfers from 39.9% APR (variable) to 19.9% APR (variable).

Suppose it's good news (To some)

Never paid any interest and allways pay in full.

Dunno if the rate has change for everyone  or it's a good conduct reward.

Do you fancy takeing your partner for a lovely meal?

Sadly if they are vegan then dont bother,
If you want other than beef - dont bother

General Discussion Area / Some one is Dipping into the jackpot
« on: 12 July 2022, 22:56:55 »
Saw on TV the other day the Euro lottery is capped at £230M

Tonights offering was £191M but no gain over Saturdays £191M

£194,189,000 Tonights jackpot had someone won it. (results)

£194,810,000 Saturdays jackpot had someone won it. (results)

Its only a measly £621,000
but it's going down not up.

Got one that is strugling to start so am assuming its the starter thing in the side.

Just been on Amazon and spoilt for choice. So many model numbers even though mostly the same wattage. :-\

Not sure if my fitting is 4 or 5 foot length but is single tube.

Been active for 12 years+ with out issue, few moths in the diffuser and the tube needs a wipe but all is good.

What wattage are the tubes? which starter is likely to be required.?

TIA  :y

Was just being nosey on the net and looking at railway sleeper prices.  Maybe for some raised border in the garden.

Came across a company in Nottingham, Few choices of wooden products inc barrels etc.

Various prices for different wood types, new/used, package size etc.  So looked up delivery costs .

One of thier shipping offers

Can you deliver to OUTER SPACE?

DELIVERIES TO OUTER SPACE
* All responsibilty for arranging intergalactic haulage, ordering & filling cargo spacecraft, and international space federation permits etc.. lies with the customer. Destination site to offload.
* Deliveries to our own solar system can often be arranged with the European Space Agency
* Deliveries to the rest of the universe will normally be shipped with the International Space Federation.
* We can arrange delivery of sleepers to most launch pad sites. Alternatively customers can arrange collection from our headquarters in the UK. Your order will be loaded by forklift.
* We do not load / stuff cargo spacecraft (with the exception of our Houston branch).

Omega General Help / Door Issues
« on: 26 June 2022, 18:45:55 »
As per the other thread I had central locking issues on my front passenger door - I think the origiinal issue was a mate putting the locking knob down before he shut the door.  Advice was to yank the knob up with a pair of pliers which worked fine.

The same door now has to be unlocked/locked manualy. (No big problem) :y

Been out today, passenger door was a tad awkward to open (Not used a while - plus its been very hot) so once in the car and running, went to lower all 4 windows to let the heat out and the front passenger door failed to lower.   Could hear a slight noise from the motor - even after the button had been released the motor seemed to keep trying a couple of times.

Questions are?

Is the window problem a common thing?

Is the window stuck in the rubber seal from the hot sun

Could it be an Earth issues causing both problems?

If it is an Earth issue on that door then where do I look to reseat the Earth?

Sorry about the typing  but the Masked singer was on in the background and Nichole Sherzinger boobs were trying to force thier way out of her dress and I was contantly getting distracted. ::)

General Discussion Area / Keeping Cool At Work
« on: 18 June 2022, 00:43:29 »
Reading different things around the net regards keeping cool at home (including another thread here with excellent tips around the home)

Also a post regards a person walking a dog with no issues but after being locked in a cae for 20 mins the poor dog had passed :'(

What is the hottest day in british history?

The warmest day ever recorded in the UK was July 25, 2019, when the mercury hit 38.7C in Cambridge. The reading, taken at Cambridge University Botanic Garden, just edged the previous UK record of 38.5C which was recorded near Faversham, in Kent, on August 10, 2003

I thought the hottest day was back in 76 but seems its been hotter since.

I started work in 77 where we maintaned a food factory and various buildings.

Normally the girls in the factory had to wear hair nets, cotton head wear, smocks with tabard or apron over anything personal they wore and a pair of wellies,

As the heat of summer came,  the outer doors were left wide open (but had no effect due to the PVC type curtains at the doors).  Multiple space heaters just used as fans

The hotter it got the salt/orange drinks were handed out & the less the girls would wear, ALL the underwear came off, aprons and tabards were abandoned, buttons and zips were oped and quite often . . . . well the rest you can all image the things I would see on a daily basis.

In the office block the directors complained about the amount of fans purchased but none were available for the directors to use. :-\

In seems after an investigation took place that all the fans were under the office girls desks to keep them cool and the funny smell was blamed on the nearby canteen. ::)

The good old day - I loved them. 8)
