Another relatively newish place similar to Gumtree, Preloved etc.. Is Shpock...

For an example a Shpock Omega randomly found > LINK

There's no phone number, So presumably, you'd need to make an account, Send a message and wait. You just don't know where you stand with these kinds of listings, At least with eBay (as flawed as it is), you have some idea what's going on.

Omega General Help / Re: WARNING tyre question
« on: 01 February 2017, 11:13:30 »
Been considering getting 2 of these Pirelli P7 Cinturato Blue
for the front sometime soon, Although I'm also considering Rain Sport 3, Goodyear AS3, Michelin PS4.

Overall I've been happy with the Goodyear AS2 over the past few years, Maybe a little on the soft side but they don't half grip well. Probably getting under 10k miles though but as has been said seems to be the norm for Omegas, Especially if they are driven enthusiastically.

Doing the cam-belt, water pump etc.. will probably be more challenging.

Definitely a good work horse the Vectra C estate they are huge! Especially now their cheap. Would still take an Omega estate over one in a heartbeat, but it's as close as you'll get a Omega 3.2 estate in that price range. They seem to be reliable enough also. Being a Vauxhall parts will be reasonable etc..

Spotted this video on YouTube. https://youtu.be/nmBx_EY3UnM ...Notice at around 01:35 into the video there's a black 'W' reg Omega Elite saloon on what appears to be ramps and the bonnet open, Its a 2.5 V6 going by the reg. Fairly high mileage considering if it's going to be a heritage vehicle that their adding to the collection.

Also why not opt for a 3.0/3.2 Elite/MV6?...  It's also had a checkered past going by the MOT history. It failed it's MOT as recently as the 18th of January 2017 on 8 things.

Interesting to see what they do with it and why it's taken them so long to get an Omega into the collection at the Vauxhall Heritage centre.

General Car Chat / Re: Car Tax - 1st April 2017
« on: 18 January 2017, 00:55:12 »
I believe everything registered before that date will be £140 pa...

That said, I haven't looked that closely :-\

That's what I thought also, Seems too good to be true somehow.  :-\

It would be simpler with one price for all cars, I can imagine the people with low TAX rate cars won't be too happy.

...People with gas guzzlers though  ;D

General Discussion Area / Double Parking

Double parking to protect your car, Do you personally do it?

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/selfish-driver-defends-bad-parking-9607250?ICID=FB_mirror_main

I don't blame anyone for doing it, Car space sizes are ridiculously out dated, It's all about cramming as much Cars/People as possible so these shops or whatever to gain the maximum amount of customers. That's all well and good but some car parks just take the p**s extremely narrow especially those 10-20+ years old. Cars get bigger, car parks remain the same. Not a good recipe.

Would i double park, That's a tough one to answer. If you do double park you are painting a great big bullseye on your car! ...Tbh I've not seen many double parking around here.

What are your thoughts on this topic?

Omega General Help / Re: Shaking
« on: 10 January 2017, 18:05:18 »
Rattle maybe the wrong word to describe the sound.

It seems to have a little play where there's some occasional movement noises, everything works as it should. it's hard to describe exactly.

Has anyone had a kinda annoying problem where the auto transmission leaver while in 'D' driving occasionally shakes making a sort of rattling sound / movement?

General Car Chat / Re: Decent looking 3.2 Elite in the bay.
« on: 02 January 2017, 04:57:30 »
What a depressing thread.... There is Migv6 sharing a Omega 3.2 Elite for sale, Not long after this thread has turned into something else.  ;D

Re.. The car for sale, Looks nice enough, Just a shame about the colour. Could make someone a nice car though.

Re.. The classic status. I personally believe the Omega (mainly the 3.0/3.2 Elite/MV6) will reach a similar classic status to the Carlton GSi / Senator 3.0 24v... No idea about the Omega 2.0s, 2.2s, 2.5s, 2.6s cd, cdx etc... Time will tell...

Als on a sidenote... It is odd how the Vauxhall heritage center with the vast amount of cars they have there including a Vectra B they do not have one Omega.... Nor does Vauxhall/Opel seem to acknowledge the existence of the Omega in their social media posts (Throwback pictures, history etc...)
