How to tell . . .
« on: 31 August 2019, 23:05:33 »

My house has a front drive, fairly straight forward. But also has a sort of drive down the other side with a bit of parking. All publicly accessible.

Recent piles of S**t around the back. Dog ? Human ? No idea. Wondering what to do. Gates - a bit overkill and pretentious. Cameras - So what ? even if I see something can't do much about it legally. Thinking about a motion activated gattling gun, but could get into trouble. Chilli spread around ? Hmmm quite expensive.

So, how do you tell dog poo from human ? They can be very similar in size.

Count legs .....  If the creature "performing" has 4 legs  ... its probably a dog .. if it only has 2 .. its probably (sub)human .....   :)

I have a similar problem on my front lawn where I currently park my car, made worse when the grass grows a bit and the turds are disguised - not nice to tread into an Omega!  >:(

A camera, with a red light to make it obvious, would be my shout. I'm sure it would put the dog owner off.

That is my next step. I bought a cheapo kit a while back from Maplins before they went bust.

Cheap or dummy cameras are a complete waste of money IMHO
I've fitted loads of FLOUREON CCTV kit which is excellent for the price point
1500 TVL or better  ;) you can get a 4 camera kit including cables ,dvr, cameras sub £80
just add a 500GB from an old sky+ HD box or a new one
so a total sub £100 will give you 1 week of 4 camera recording that you can remote access via your mobile phone etc
the police even said it was excellent footage when a house a few doors away got robbed
example clicky or another clicky
shop around ,in sales sometimes as low as £50

.................with the legally applicable warning signs if covering a public area, and wishing to use any recorded footage in criminal action. ;)

Also speak to the local council for advise and action. It is illegal to let a dog, or human, foul a public area, but please see the link for further info :

Bet you're fickin fuming. Good luck getting the boys in blue to chase it up. It is, after all, a criminal offence to leave the scene of an accident.
