Block Paving Oil Stain Remover - Any Recommendations?
« on: 17 August 2016, 09:53:57 »

My Omega has been a little incontinent lately.  Since the recent oil change, it has decided to start leaking from the bottom of the dipstick tube.  It appears that the o-ring that is meant to prevent this from happening had disappeared somewhere.  It's even worse if you park at the side of the road half on the footpath.  Probably hasn't helped that I ever so slightly overfilled it with oil.... :-[

Anyway, does anyone have any recommendations on the best product to use for removing oil stains from block paving driveways?  I've seen a few products that might do the trick, just wondered if anyone has used a particular product themselves?

That's not a bad plan.  The car and the driveway, I could do two for the price of one!!  :D

If it's fresh, Daz Automatic is very good at lifting Diesel/Oil but old stains not so much.

Don't know why but other brands are not as effective :y

These stains are approx 2 weeks old now.  Car no longer being parked on the drive until I've replaced the dipstick o-ring and replaced the transmission sump gaskets.  I've also acquired an undertray that I'm going to fit, so if it does still drip a little, the undertray can catch it instead of the driveway!

All the blocks I've seen / used can only be fitted one way up. 10 out of 10 for ingenuity though..!

B&Q £8 for  5ltr swarfega oil remover. ive just used some on my driveway. its ok but concrete is different to block paving. I would just renew as they don't cost too much. utube has a guy using cheap cola, & another grinding cat litter with his feet on oil stains.  :y :y :y :y :y
