Hi TB,i can only explain like this.If you open the bonnet right at the front of the car, there are 3 pieces of plastic. One left covering the headlight one in the middle covering part of the rad(where you can put cam belt change info on a sticker)and one right covering the other headlight. The ones left and right can be undone by turning a screw, with a large flat blade screwdriver. The long black piece in the middle has 2 screws either end,and when you remove this the two parts seam to be glued or bonded to the front of the rad.I hope this makes sense  ;D.Dean.

No pipes coming from them as far as i can see, they are gray plastic on the outside. And maybe foam or sponge or something,on the inside. They are defiantly siliconed to the outside of the rad,all round.Wish i had a phone to take a picture,i sound like a idiot. ;D Dean.

You mean the front fan casings :-\

These are actually fitted from the engine side, even though they are ahead of everything else.

Should simply push the tops towards the bumper to re secure :y

You don't mean the headlight back rubber covers, do you? They are grey, and in the right situation. The things you remove to change bulbs.

Sorry DG you are correct. The left hand one has come away from the rad at the top and that is what is making the noise.I have put some silicone adhesive on the top edge rubber,to fix it back to the rad.It seams ok for now no noise, but how are they normally fixed in place.Dean.BTW Thanks for the pic Terry.

FTLOG why ???

They clip into a rubber grommet on the slam panel. Simply push the top towards the number plate until it pops into place...

Terry's pic doesn't show the shaped spring clip that attaches to the rectangular holes in the bracket and made the marks on the rubber block. The radiator assembly is a pretty tight fit, and the clips don't really do much. Gluing the rubber in place isn't something I would find necessary if the clips were missing.

The bit you glued to the radiator CLIPS to the metal panel that the bonnet latches to by way if a plastic ball and rubber grommet. Not sure that I can simplify it any further... :-\

But here goes...

https://goo.gl/images/wBVuJa

Lower two pins sit on the lower cross member top single pin is the one that clips into the slam panel.

Hi all, well after reading your posts and searching through the forum this is what i have learned. The part with the fans is the condenser rad not the coolant rad.(didn't even know my car had air con)There was a bolt missing that secures it to the main rad via a bracket,so it was vibrating i have put another bolt in it.I have had a look at the fans and the left one is fooked, wobbling about and catching the shroud surround. Also for some reason both fans are staying on for ages, well over 2min.So i now need to get a new fan and find out why they are staying on for so long, and work out how to fit it.I have sent a pm to a really nice guy who is a forum member, and lives near me.It looks like replacing the fan is a right bastid but we will see,now to try to find a replacement. Thanks for all your help advice and particularly your patents, will see how it goes Dean. :y

Hi all, looks like i am having a bit of trouble finding a fan Germany only. And when i search it says will not fit my car, there must be some in the uk.The part number is 90500025 and 90467915,do you think its worth putting an ad in parts wanted section.Dean.

Fans staying on for cooling purposes. Be more concerned if they never came on or never switched off.

Both front fans are the same. Four pots have one, V6s have two.

To swap them out, you need to pull the radiator... Remove the bagpipes and main fan. Lift it clear of the top brackets then hoik the whole lot towards the engine. Should then have space to pop the fans out. Unplug from the front.

Hi DG,so to be sure.I don't need to worry about the fans staying on.I will put a wanted ad in the appropriate section for a fan, someone must have one.So remove the bagpipes and the main fan,i thought the main fan was attached to the rad.Lift the main cooling rad clear of top brackets, move the whole lot towards the engine. How do i remove the condenser rad to put the new fan in,or does it lift out with the main rad. Will i be able to get to the connector to unplug it from the front.Sorry for all the questions, but i have never done anything like this. And i will be on my own with no one to ask if i am doing it right. Thanks again DG i appreciate it.Dean. :-[
