airbag light on after seat swap.
« on: 09 November 2014, 13:35:30 »

Ive changed my 98 elite front seats for a set of FL MV6 leathers and now have the airbag light on the dash. When i took the seats out i found the wire for the drivers seat airbag had been repaired (bodged) so had the loom plug and wire off the donor car to do a proper repair but this hasnt resolved the light being on. Ive put "My Naff Code Reader" in and its giving me DTC 6 & 7 as the faults.......any ideas please?

TIA

Is your 1998 car PFL or MFL.

Codes are around the pretensioners (both sides), making me think that you car had the mechanical pretensioners, thus pre MFL.

Its a MFL as far as im aware. I wasnt aware there was a difference in the pretensioners?? So if i swap them from the original seats it should resolve my probs?

You'll need the airbag light resetting when you fix the 'fault' ....... it won't do it itself  :(
