When I did my autodim I found that the plug in this picture has the correct wires. +ve -ve and reverse switch. Easily double checked with a meter

think this is the sensor wire

Using the picture at the bottom of the guide I located the wires in the mirror, removed both plugs and soldered the wires to each other. Works a treat dims and disables when in reverse.

would the wire up there be a ribbon cable for the sensor?

If the headlining is out and you haven't seen it, then no :'( All.runs up.The passenger a pillar...

The bigger plug could be the mirror one then, in which case you can swap the wires into your Later mirror :y

Vw99 relay could be the next best thing ;)

Besides, the car willstill look liie it has a sensor fitted, which is nice 8)

As that option was not an option in 2000, there won't be any wiring in the loom for it. So that's why you can't find it.

TBH, its really, really, REALLY not worth the effort.
