Mine has arrived - prompt delivery but no lower idler

Backplate looks like an early EB one

Will post pics in a bit

So the tensioner is there but not the fixed idler?

What make are the bearings?

Some packaging company got the job stuffing boxes with components, instructions got garbled, and thousands of boxes were done before the error was discovered. Pallets were eventually returned as 'incomplete' and instead of correcting they were sold off, ending up on e-bay. Just a theory, if true then buying 2 boxes gets me one compete kit for £40, I'll settle for that.

Been reading this thread with interest as my belt is almost up to needing replacement.

So, do we think that the quality of these £20 jobbies looked ok and ordering two would take care of the missing idler pulley by using one from the second kit?

James, was the bearing manufacturer kosher?

If it was, I'll probably grab a couple today.

Yeah skf bearings, as used by vx. Buy two of these, use your old backplate, but new bolts and nut / washer on the tensioner as supplied, job done. Just use the top idler from the second kit, as a lower idler, using your original washer

£40 cambelt kit, jobs a Goodun. That's what I did on my elite :y

Thanks mate, seems like it all checks out then.

I've just ordered two kits. The Vauxhall one was showing it's the last remaining, but I saw some Saab ones listed and they are the same. Double checked and they both list the miggy.

As an added bonus, if you order 2 at the same time, you get 5% discount. Happy days.

So now I find this message in my ebay inbox:

"These models have 3 different timing belt kits depending on the engine number. The registration number provided for the Vauxhall Omega shows that you need eBay item 191920496337. To be on the safe side could you please forward the registration number for the Saab."

A load of old ballcocks right?

Item 191920496337 being the expensive kit with the 3rd pulley.

BOTH listings, the Vauxhall and Saab list:

   "Vauxhall   Omega   2000   B [1994-2004]   Estate   3.0 V6   2962ccm 211HP 155KW (Petrol)"

Which is my engine.

Both the listings also have the exact same part numbers.

I already told him I don't have a Saab, and the kits are the same. I just need 2.

Does doesn't it?

'spares-hq' is his ebay name.

I've messaged him back, if he still persists in trying to get me to buy the other item, I'll tell him to sling his hook and I'll find one somewhere else (even if it costs me more lol).

And I'll contact ebay too and tell them the seller is listing items that don't actually fit the makes and models he's saying they should.
