Plenum gaskets for v6 what ones do I need
« on: 21 February 2017, 22:08:37 »

Hi, so about to order everything I need for TB change on 2.6 V6 can anyone tell me what gaskets I actually need for plenum chamber? I'm confused as there seems to be 3 separate O rings per side but also 3 'O' rings joined in a sort of daisy chain. Is it both or what?

Here's the diagram I'm looking at. Do I only need No. 13, the 6 'O' rings, or those and the No. 16 & 17? Feekin lost here (waves fist up in air at vx parts complexity) :)

Cheers

G

You shouldn't need any new seals, the originals will almost certainly be re-usable.

Item 15 is the plastic sandwich plate that bolts onto the heads. I think two item 16 go under it and three item 17 go on top.

Finally six O-rings (13X? or 9?) sit between the lower and upper inlet manifold.

Don't need any of them. They can all be reused many times over. Worth getting a "top hat" rubber gasket though, which sits between the plastic breather box and the top of the plenum as they often tear when being taken off or put back.

Beaten to it, but double confirmation does no harm.  :)

By TB do you mean throttle body? That has another couple of O-rings that I don't think are shown on that page (but they might be item 9).

Again, you won't need new ones. Just take care of the originals.

Thanks for info. you don't happen to know what number that is from the diagram or will I not need this if only doing a timing belt?

Timing belt - sorry for confusion. I'm going to do that plus water pump, coolant flush and sump gasket change. Also can't seem to find lower sump gasket for 2.6 only 2.5, number 26 on this diagram:

Will ask part guy at autovaux if he can clarify about that too.

It isn't on that diagram.

Try item 14 on this one http://ecat24.com/opel/catalog/part/1/30/205/3267/34280/

Later cars use 'grey glueing sealant'. Seems a bit improbable but it is easier to apply than a gasket and works better too :y

Ok that would explain why he only quoted for sealant :) no gasket
Cheers again Andy

Does anyone have more info on part number or similar for below:

No. 11 in diagram in link below

part No. 90467543

http://ecat24.com/opel/catalog/part/1/30/205/3266/34230/

Guy at autovaux says "NLS – no supply showing available, not listed on EPC – is there another number/application for it ?"

Should be readily available from VX dealers for a couple of quid or so.
