Hi all,

I am looking for a recommendation for someone on here to do a head gasket change on my Omega 2.5V6.

I have stripped the car down as a start, but would like someone experienced in working on the V6 to complete the job properly, as I don't really have the available time to complete the job before xmas 

The cam belt, cam belt covers, sprockets etc are all off. I have all the parts including a full head gasket set (including cam cover gaskets etc), new bolts, water pump, thermostat....

Any help much appreciated!

What were the symptoms to lead you to think it's failed?

Are the heads now off? Given the dark nights do you have a garage / lighting?

I'd try Darth Loo-knee given your location. Top bloke, though with a dubious taste in 1980s Pop music

If you get stuck I may be able to help, but with my shift work / family life my times quite limited these days.

The symptoms have been a water leak that has slowly got worse over time. I have used K-seal a couple of times too 

The engine is now stripped down to the heads (heads not off though), and there is clearly some K-seal that has tried to seal the head gasket leak....

I do not have garage access or lighting really so daylight time only really plus weather dependant 

Is it best to PM Darth Loo-knee? I actually quite like 80's music too.....

Could well of acted in haste possible oil cooler leak or HBV  9 times out of 10 if its one of the items removed get it pressure checked B4 you go any further.

Now it is stripped you can clearly see where the K-seal "attempted" to seal the leak, coming from the gasket join.....

I also have the same problem.. But its not the HBV , oil cooler or and hoses.... Fingers pointing to core plug or head gasket.. I also used an additive to stop coolant leak and I worked a treat but its clogged Mt matrix up and heating inside car is really poor.

Yes my matrix got blocked after using K-seal, and then started leaking so had to change it.

If my matrix starts to leak the car is going to get cubed and sent to china to be made into a fridge.

It's not that hard a job if u follow the cheat method on here....it does mean cutting away a small part of the dash tho, but isn't noticeable afterwards

true, done about 4 or 5 of them.

Hardest part is carefully peeling back the covering without tearing it, and then not shredding it as you proceed to hack bloody great chunks out of the dash with a Dremel

Undoing/refitting the bolt for the pipe join is a bit of a fiddle, but a satisfying job all told
