I have one of them that is in its box with both men still intact. My ex bro-in-law was a collector and kept telling me to get my collection valued for insurance purposes, turned out to be better than his ;D

General Discussion Area / Lotus carltons at Brands Hatch
« on: 18 August 2015, 08:24:31 »
ABS was invited to show some LC,s at Brands last weekend as part of the Lotus Festival. Four cars and the supercharged rep on the Saturday and seven and the rep on Sunday. Saturday saw the cars on a very restricted parade lap of the full grand prix circuit while late Sunday had two laps of the indy circuit. One of our members got very bored of the constant 5 mph so jumped out of his car several times to take pictures which had the effect of creating a large gap. From the bottom of druids to the midle of the start finish straight had then become clear so off he took leaveing a number eleven on the track with the rest of us then having to play catch up :y. The cousre car had realised something was up and came flying past us just after the number eleven had been done, trying to then catch a Lotus Carlton being given some beans. As we passedthe back of the pits, many people were hanging over the fence with cameras and all egging us on. Some pictures are on the ABS face ache page of the weekend

Dont use MER as it leaves a coating that yellows with age in the sunlight

Is your car a PFL? If so, I have a pump here, bought in error for my FL model. I may well be going along to the High Wycombe meet next month if interested as it is very heavy as you probably well know.
I had the whole front come off my AC compessor at 60mph. Made an awful mess

My 3.0 S 1981 Senator had been converted to a Weber carb from the problematic GM item when I bought it. Apparently it won't be as quick as the origional as that was a four barrel item but it was reliable and achieved 30 mpg

SWMBO has a Tuscon. I hate the thing. 54 plate and she has owned it from 6 months old. 115k on it now and it don't leak or burn any oil' from one oil change to the next. Hers has suffered from the front prop uj wearing very badly so it made a very bad chatter under acceleration. Have removed it as four wheel drive is electronicly engaged via dash switch to rear axle. Over 20 mph it auto dissengages so prop removal don't affect it.' 2.0 diesel and its 285 a year road tax
