Just wish I had the free cash to first buy it, ship it to the UK, then run it with our fuel prices!  Cannot imagine servicing would be cheap either! ;D ;D :)

All of that is the type of thinking that is ill informed nonsense.

GM V8s are stupidly cheap to maintain. It's the performance parts that are expensive (discs/pads and the like). As for importing it, £5-800 shipping plus 15% import duty and 20%VAT.

So as it sits the car is about £7k here. And it's basically MoT ready as it's a European design.

So for the price of a five year old Astra...  ::)

And as for fuel costs, the Monaro VXR is more* economical than an Omega :-X

*obviously caning it will see single figures all day long, but that's equally true of the Omega (which is why TB runs his on lpg ::))
