The deed is done ... :(
« on: 28 March 2019, 19:52:44 »

The deed is done ... the beast has been replaced by ...   :'( :'( :'(

Most folks don’t know but back in January I had a nasty fall that ended up with 16 head stitches, cracked ribs, and severe bruising to back, pelvis and hips …  This has left me 1) Struggling to lift/load stuff into the top box when fitted and 2) REALLY struggling to do any work on or under the car due to mobility issues; add this to the fact that 3) She is now over 18 years and I cannot get European breakdown cover from anywhere – there is no way I’m doing 3 weeks in France with the “tintent” on the back without breakdown cover, so I’m afraid she has to go. Replacement is an estate so the lifting problems go, its only 5 years old, so the breakdown cover is solved, and the chances of me needing to work on it are hopefully very low !!

Only downside is it runs on truck fuel ...

Stand by for a lengthy advert, with lots of photos, in the for sale section   :'( :'( :'(

Truck fuel is an upside, BTW  :)

Hard decision to come to, as was ours when we waved goodbye to big blue a week or 2 ago.
But when the time comes, the time comes.

Sorry to hear about your fall, Entwood, and pleased you are on the mend. These things happen, it's good that you are determined to go driving abroad again, even if it entails buying a younger and more expensive car. Good luck to you!

That looks nice and I've always fancied one of those, so will be interested to hear how you get on with it.  :y

What do you intend to do about servicing etc Nige? Main dealer, Indy Audi specialist or local garage?  :-\

Hope you're recovering well from what sounds like a very nasty fall!  :)

Looks nice Entwood, I'm sure she'll be a fine replacement for the Omega. Glad to hear you are on the mend, too!
