Tayna Batteries
« on: 25 October 2019, 07:08:43 »

Ordered a new battery from them yesterday, paid for standard delivery, arriving today.

Glad I didn't pay the extra for express delivery ;D

Identical Varta stop/start battery as fitted, over £100 cheaper than anywhere else, even EPC with a 45% discount.

For an extra £15 fitted by a local garage (they arrange), saves breaking my back trying to lift it out myself.

Tayna, I think, AA.
They're first class. I use them for cars and golf buggy batteries. Never had any problems.

Indeed, we (family) have been using them for a good number of years.

I see no reason to shop anywhere else tbh.  :y

Likewise.

I'm sure I've read of someone having a problem with them, though... probably TB ;D

Genuine Vx for me on TC.... that was four years ago £65 iirc.... priced one up for a neighbor last year...£150+!!! Seems like the 'best' battery to get fluctuates annually. Good to see there's a good option out there at a not-stupid price.

And I thought as EVs increase in popularity and as battery technology progresses we are being promised batteries should get cheaper? Hmmm!  ::)

not the same type of battery! Standard 12v lead acid batteries have barely changed for over 100 years; modern ones are a bit more powerful/reliable/durable than older ones, and a lot cheaper.

When a decent branded battery suitable for an Omega is readily available for about £60, how much cheaper do you expect them to get?

How much was a Merc one?

£158.00 AMG Stop/Start.

Could have bought cheaper, but I wanted one the same as was originally fitted.

It's a bloody big battery :)

I'm not saying I demand all batteries to get cheaper per se - my point being for the same battery in four years the price rose by something like three times. I am aware I'm comparing battery apples and oranges in lead acid vs. li-ion, 'twas just a generalised comment in that respect.  :y

you're still stuck on the TC is the only way to buy standard consumables delusion. What's happened is they've reduced the discount given to a retail customer.
