Started to clean the interior of the ex plod. Turns out the leak I found and fixed under the bonnet has been there for some time, Ive just stripped the carpets and found a small colony of fish living in the rear footwell...

Now got some of it drying on the line and some of the (extra, added by me) soundproofing in the washing machine...

Further to my last... When I stripped Zeke out and put in the aforementioned soundproofing... I didn't go right down to stripping out the thick spongey soundproofing. This was a mistake. Because for one, I would have found my leak a lot sooner. But also... I wouldn't now have had a new ecosystem growing in there. Ripped the full lot out... I think I've been carrying 20kg of mould and water round for the past year ..

The interior parts I'm not replacing are now drying in the bath...

Went out this morning to find the front offside tyre flat on the Mondeo.  >:(

Couldn't pump it up with the compressor so whipped it off and took it up to the local filling station to use the airline.  Got back, poured water over it and as I suspected it was leaking from the rim... again!  ::)  >:(

I was going to drop it at the local garage to get them to scrub up the rim, but realised that the tyre is worn on the inner edge. New tyre then...  ::)

I probably should have bitten the bullet ages ago Rae and had the rims properly refurbished, as I've never had a car where the rims leak like this one even though I had all the tyres taken off and the rims cleaned a couple of years ago.  :-\

Nice dry sunny day so spent the downtime replacing the heater blower hedgehog resistor as have had no interior blower for past week with fuse 33 removed.

When checked I replaced it 2.5 years ago with a pattern part off amazon for £18 so cant complain really and paid a similar sum for this one but doudt I will be doing it again in another 2.5 years as now nursing a very stiff back after spending most of the time upside down in the passenger footwell.

Oh well its done now  :y

Its one of those jobs that write up make sound simple. ::)..well in fairness it isnt hard to do just unplug a couple of wires and refit...getting those bloody plastic retaining tangs apart requires 4 hands...1 each side..1 to hold the torch and the other to keep putting glasses back on in the right place >:(...thats not including the 5th hand to pull the damn thing out with all the vac pipes etc there.

Nice cuppa now and 2 ibuprofen  :-[

Try replacing the landing gear control valve on a Yak 52. Four times, before we got one(assembled out of 3 others) that didn't leak.
Then the fun really started: lockwiring all the connections....

spent some of yesterday and today checking my Omega over, no MOT extension for me  :P
stripped and cleaned the brakes, oil service, topped up the undersealing etc
polished the headlights ,checked the lights etc even gave it a wash  ::)
dropped it round for an MOT (due 28/11 ) to my tame MOT tester (who may well shut up shop very soon for lockdown ,he's a police special and in demand apparently)
passed the MOT with no advisories  :)

got to check/take Mrs Builders astra H estate as that is due 21/11
