General Car Chat / And so it starts.....

PSA have announced 400 redundancies at Vauxhall Ellesmere port. May well be the beginning of the end of Vauxhall.
Sad really, but it might be time someone put it out of its misery.  :(

I hope the authorities are planning on  "doing an Uber", and cancelling their licence to operate.
They have always been a disgraceful excuse for an airline, but have now become a complete farce. Either O,leary couldn't run a bath or the pilots holidays is a cover story for something more seriously wrong with his company.

Three weeks ago he fell off a dirt bike and snapped both bones in his lower leg, needing surgery to put it back together.
Today he has just qualified third on the grid for tomorrows MotoGP race. :o
At 38 years old, that's close to superhuman imo.  8)

Young Lewis beat Schumachers all time record today by claiming his 69th pole position in F1.
He did it the hard way too. Monza was so wet they delayed the show by a couple of hours, but they eventually got going on wet tyres.
Driving there, on the limit, in the wet is a mans pastime.
Like him (and I do) or not, theres no denying he is among the very best in history.

General Car Chat / Battery reccomendations ?
« on: 29 August 2017, 19:18:04 »
My old 190 is a 5 cylinder 2.5 diesel, which runs on wvo, which means it needs to spin over pretty quickly to get it started.
The battery is a newish Halfords 096, 70ah, 640cca and struggles a bit so I'm thinking of pitting something more pokey.
Any recommendations of what to buy and where from ?
Tia.  :)

Is it still £20 ? They sent me a letter telling me my membership has expired and informing me I can now pay by Paypal.
Theres no mention of how much I should pay though.  ::)

A drama about members of I.S. Just watched the first episode and it came across like a recruiting film to me. Impressionable young Muslims watching could be sucked in by this kind of irresponsible crap.
It might change in further episodes, but so far Im very unimpressed.

Could be an interesting concept.  :-\

From next year they will be allowed to go on motorways during lessons. A recipe for disaster imo.
I think we should have a system where you pass your test, then have to take a further specific test, say a year later, before you can drive on motorways.      http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-40905632

Something else to have an argument about.  ;D
A lot of talk over the weekend from various people (mostly Tories) that it should now be lifted. So what do we think ?

The rigid plastic type rather than floppy rubber ones. Mine got chewed up and cracked, probably due to the fact the suspension was as stiff as jelly before replacement, so went in the bin. Lower sides of the wings are always getting covered in crap now, so would like to replace them if anyone has a spare pair lying around.
