Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / Wanted. Diff mount bolts.
« on: 26 November 2020, 16:18:20 »
As above. Each diff mount is attached to the floorpan by two bolts. If anyone has a couple of spares lying around I will happily exchange some beer tokens for them.

General Car Chat / Diff mounts. Where from ?
« on: 26 November 2020, 14:57:20 »
At least one of my diff mounts has rubber separation and looks in poor shape. Where do we source them from please and how much for ?
Nothing on ebay, so Im guessing one of the specialist suppliers or give my working kidney to VX dealer ?

Also a couple of the retaining bolts for them are somewhat chewed. I reckon someone has been at them with a windy gun at some point.
Bit of an unusual looking bolt and I dont seem to have any spares. Anyone got a couple to exchange for some beer tokens please ?

Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / Wanted. Plod rear springs.
« on: 21 November 2020, 22:29:31 »
Need a pair of rear springs, so would like to fit a pair of plod spec on the rear to match the ones on the front.
Thought I knew where I could source a pair, but they are long gone, so thought I would ask on here to see if anyone has a pair lying around.
Tia.

Congraualtions to Lewis Hamilton on becoming the most successful racing driver in history. 8)
Equal with Schumacher on 7 world titles, but ahead of everyone on race wins, poles and just about every other record that counts.
And whats more he has done it fair and square. Never drove dangerously or unfairly, never cheated. Started from a council house in Stevenage, with no money, but huge talent, self belief and sheer hard work and rose to the very top. Inspiring hardly begins to cover it.
His politics may be controversial, but as a racing driver Ive never seen better.
If he isnt a national hero theres something wrong with the nation.

General Car Chat / Low compression on one bank. Not an Omega.
« on: 22 October 2020, 23:06:04 »
A flat 6 not a V6. What are the possible causes of all three cylinders reading 120psi while the other shows 180psi.
Car has a constant cam sensor fault code, despite cam sensor being replaced. Seller seems to think the cam sensor the cam sensor fault code could cause the ECU to alter the cam timing, thus giving low compression.
I dont see how thats possible when the cams are driven by chains from a shaft, which is driven by another chain from the crankshaft.
Seller seems very genuine by the way. Just maybe a bit out of his depth.

General Discussion Area / Buying a car remotely
« on: 10 October 2020, 19:33:46 »
Never really done this before, so dont really know how to go about it.
Seen a car I want to buy on Gumtree (depending on the answers to a few questions) which is in Warsash Hampshire. This too far to go and view / buy / pay, so if I buy it, the only thing I can think of is to have to collected via Shipley or similar.
Thing is I then presumably have to transfer money to the bank of someone Ive never met, before it gets collected.
Any advice on a way to do this which doesnt involve me risking losing my dosh please ?

« on: 23 June 2020, 10:41:02 »
Does it still exist ? Havent heard any mention of it for a long time. Website doesnt seem to be around any longer ? And if it was, Ive forgotten the login details - again.
If it does still exist, how do I find a list of participating dealers ? I seem to remember there was a big cull a few years ago.
