so your confirming that the strobes etc are retro fitted by the friendface seller  ;D
boot mats are transferable ,maybe from an actual ex plod car by Simon into your old non plod omega
Simon told me that he transferred the boot carpet. Can't guarantee that it came from an ex police car though.......

1963 when i passed my test in Dads HA Viva. Was driving a Reliant Regal three wheeler for two years on my motor bike licence so that helped as the gearbox setup was the same. :-*

Aug 79 for me. The month before I joined up.  :y

I read that and my first thought was "I don't think the forum was around in 1979" ... then realised what you meant ;D

First car, bought 3 months later was a Sunbeam Ti. About £10k now, IF you can find one. Lotus Sunbeams are more common....

In early 79 I had a brand new Sunbeam ti sat in a dealer in Liverpool waiting for me to collect and pay for it. Before I booked a ticket for the ferry I came across a Chevette HS for sale, and never gave the Sunbeam another thought.
The dealer in Liverpool was not very happy with me.
Was I bovvered ?  ::) ;D

Wife started a conversation with me yesterday.
Swmbo "That bloke over the road, who seems to have plenty of money was driving up and down the road in an old car yesterday, don't know if it was an old classic or an old banger ?
Me " It was a MK1 Lotus Cortina, so more of a classic really. Very rare and worth as much as a small house".
Swmbo "why does it have stickers and stuff all over it ?".
Me " He races it."
Swmbo "so, its rare and worth a small fortune and he races it around a track . Men are such stupid creatures."

Hard to argue with the logic really.  ;D ;D

Have you thought about that first sentence? It's a bit of a worry.

Do you mean that women are incapable of starting conversations? I find with SWMBO that it,s impossible to stop one. :D

that's what I thought DG because it's a devil's work an auto box
may be interesting for Andy to see where it went
maybe the new buyer will  join OOF with their new "road wars car"  ;D
It is my old car. I bought it from Simon of PVS (police vehicle sales?) who bought and sold several ex police Omegas but I don't believe this one ever got abused by the police (the wiring loom was all still unmolested) .The carpet in the boot has a cut out in the middle to go round a big square box but that is because it came out of a car with a gun safe (or so I was told...........).
I spend most of my time nowadays listening to stories from my two little daughters about unicorns - I haven't got the emotional energy to spend on arguing about the provenance of a 16 year old car.
That said - if someone can find a clip from roadwars where my car makes a cameo appearance I would love to see it  :)
Price increased to £1500 for this "Ex police from road wars omega 2.6 v6" so it's an appreciating asset  8)  :P   ???   :-\   ;D

so the bumper and possibly the boot mat are ex police

I talked to Mrs Builder recently about how much of a classic car you can replace with other parts before it stops being the original car anymore after watching car sausage  ;D

The bumper didn't have the blatantly obvious light holes when Andy sold it...  :y
