2001 Mv6 2.6 auto, breaking.
« on: 21 April 2012, 15:22:55 »

2.6 auto, 122,000 miles, Tax till June, M.O.T. till Nov.
Number plate transfer from 'A13 JHF'.
I'm possibly the 3rd. owner (still waiting on v5).
The car rolls along very well, no issues with suspension, brakes, gearbox, steering, etc.
The vehicle was advertised as having a m.a.f. fault when I got it and it does seem a little flat at the top of the rev range how ever no engine light on and I haven't gotten around to investigating the fault.
I have driven it for around 30 miles and she seems a good car and, as yet, no parts have been removed or changed.

I am looking to break this vehicle but if some-one wants to save it from this fate then it is available for sale, £1000 no offers.

It has recent receipts for:-
Overhaul of rear diff in Jan. '07 (£1057)
New power sounder fitted at Vx. at end of '07 (£48 for siren + £59 to diagnose!).

All parts available, here is an example of prices...

Rear diff, £50.
Auto box, ar25/35? £70.
Wheels, £62.50 individually or £200 the set of 4.
Front seats, £150. Rear seats, £50. Door cards, £10 each. Take the lot for £200.

All prices are for parts collected, Pay-Pal and packaging, postage is available.
Any questions? please get in touch...

Forgot to add, the vehicle comes with two keys and 7 stamps in the service history, the first 5 are Vx. main dealer in Tamworth.

I'd be interested in a couple of bits if you decide to break it!

Hiya Mate, I'd rather strip the car for spares as that should return the most profit, what parts were you after?

Hiya Mate,
someone has enquired about the front bumper via p.m.
I'm not sure if he needs the headlight squirties or not, as soon as I hear back from him I'll let you know.
If they are available then I'd want £30 for the pair.
Cheers,
Rich.

Sorry Mate, the vehicle is being used by a friend for a week or two whilst his car is off the road, I guess you need the coil pack a.s.a.p...

I'll update this post accordingly.

Wheels are still available now, I have a set of steel wheels that can be put on to the Mv6 to keep it on the road a while longer...

Dunno Mate, I'd guess it's sticky backed vinyl of somesort!
The car was owned by an elderly Gent judging by the age of his Mrs., perhaps he just preferred it that way?

I'd imagine so, or perhaps the door cards can be stripped down, if the plastic parts need replacing?

Door cards are a tenner each Mate, as stated at the top of the ad....

Thing is though another forum member has expressed an interest in all the Mv6 trim and I've said he could have the 4 door cards, ashtray, stereo surround and the trim from the centre console for £60. Just need to sort out delivery or collection.

You want second dibbs on them?

I'm not in a huge rush, the car's still drive able at the moment, just a slight misfire which I think will probably get worse, so let me know if/when it's available  :y

Will do Mate, it shouldn't be much more than a few weeks but do you think your risking damaging the cats on your car, using it whilst it's missing?

I'm only using it back and forth to work at the moment, it doesn't even get up to normal working temperature  :y

I'll update this post accordingly.

I have this car back in my possession now so it is ready to strip.

All parts available except maybe the interior silver trim, door cards, and the stereo is a little broken...

Those that have already expressed an interest in parts will be contacted via p.m. in due course.

Cheers,
Rich.
