Ocassional stalling
« on: 01 May 2019, 07:33:02 »

Tickover when up to temperature on my 3L is 500revs or just a tad below, however once in a while[there's no set pattern of time/distance/conditions]when slowing down to a stop at traffic lights/roundabouts the revs will drop further momentarily before recovering and sometimes it doesn't recover and stalls taking two or three attempts to get it to re-start which can make things a bit of a lottery when driving out and about.I'm thinking possible IACV problem or throttle body needing a clean? do these sound feasible?Any other ideas?

Sounds like a classic case of a failing crank position sensor. Read the fault codes and report back.

I would also clean and lube the ICV.  :y

Clean icav, throttle bodies, and check that icav is airtight, if still doing this then new crank sensor.

If all above fail, it could me the mass air flow sensor (MAF), easily checked by unplugging it (bringing on the EML) and seeing if the fault disappears.

I think I'll go with swapping IACV[I've got a new one in stock]and cleaning throttle bodies and see how it fares with that.
