i dont really want to change head unit unless i really have to, As i would like to keep the dash as standard as possible.
I would much rather go for better speakers and a smallish amp, And i dont really want to add a sub as i need all the boot space possible (i go camping alot ).
what would you recomend if i go this route?
The standard set up is not bad but i just cannot get it to sound right either to tinney or to much bass.
Also does the ccr 2006 have the feature to increase the volume as the car speed increases like in my old pre faclift cdx? if it does my is not set up. How do i set it up as i dont have a manual for the stereo.
cheers
I don't belive the CCR 2006 has 'Speed Sensive Volume' but Hilper will clarifiy..
As for changing the speakers.... i really would
not recommend this, the standard speakers are excellent its the weak vauxhall headunits which let them down.
Changing the speakers and keeping the standard headunit would result in no change IMO...
I too was reluctant to change the look of the standard dash layout, but i am glad i changed.
Avoid double din sized replaces, they are a pig to fit, lack space for adaptors and look pants once installed due to the angled bay in facelifts.
Get a double din to single din adaptor and get a decent single din unit in there, that alone will be far better. Aftermarket headunits have far more control options...
