One of my Omegas was hit by a truck yesterday. Driver of course ran away. Know the identity of truck and driver so hopefully the company will tale responibility for the damage today. Omega was parked and was hit in the rear by what i believe is the trucks rear end swinging out when turning. Omega is a 97 estate. Trucks rear steel bumper ripped a big hole in the omegas plastic bumper. Also hit the Omegas trailer hitch and dragged it 40 cm sideways. The Edge of the»box» on the truck went through the Omegas tailgate window wich shattered in a thousand pieces. Tailgate itself seems pratically undamaged.
Omega alarm was screaming and flashing. But started thinking, what exactly set it of. Glass break sensors on the rear side windows only cover their respective window i assume? Also didnt think the omega alarm would react to the car moving sideways? Tailgate structure itself is intact and remained close. My assumption is the interior Motion detectors triggered the alarm when they reacted to pieces of the tailgate glass started flyging around in there. Or is it any other feature on the alarm that could have reacted?
