Another oppswit ebay seller
« on: 06 March 2019, 18:38:09 »

They sent the wrong part.  Rather than send the right item, or let me send it back for a full refund, they are insistent that I should accept a (undisclosed) partial refund and keep the wrong item.  I have suggested this is unacceptable on 3 separate occasions now, after they keep suggesting I should be happy.

Then they get properly shitty when I leave them negative feedback.  WTF do they expect?

Sounds like the usual Chinese sellers to me.

Open a dispute and they soon let you keep the part and give a full refund

This (UK) seller is trying to play the system (and the Paypal receipt when I bought it a few weeks back wasn't full of hieroglyphs, so probably even a real UK seller ;)).

Awaiting ebay final decision.

How are they doing that? I thought things were pretty cut and dried on eBay?

I got a pair of stainless steel number plate surrounds a couple of weeks ago from a UK seller.
When I opened up the package there was a pair of light cotton gloves included.
I thought " how thoughtful of them including these so that the stainless doesn't get fingerprints on them........
As soon as I started to assemble the two parts of each surround I slashed two of my fingertips deeply ending up bleeding everywhere. The edges of theses surrounds were razor sharp akin to a stanley blade.
I couldn't believe it.
I contacted them and they admitted that they knew there was a problem hence the gloves .
The problem was that on a tailgate like our Yeti it's all too easy to inadvertently brush your hand against it and each time you wash with a sponge it just slices it.
They offered a refund if I sent them back at my cost and wouldn't budge on that so I thought sod them . I wrote a damming review and posted negative feedback.
Honestly they should never have been sold to the public and were the most dangerous items i've ever purchased.
I spent some time on them dulling the edges using a dremel, a power finger file and 800 grit and they're safe now but even then cut my fingers again.

Only twice out of many e-bay purchases have I had any kind of problem. The first was when the seller could not fulfil the order and gave me an immediate refund without any kind of prompting and the second was when the item didn't arrive[still hasn't]and was resolved by e-bay/paypal very quickly. All the rest have arrived[or I've collected]on or ahead of stated times and been of a quality expected given price paid.

Only had one problem with a tap bought from eBay , but sold it for £2 profit on our local buy & swap site , nothing wrong with it but fittings were incorrect for our en suite, all other purchases have been fine.

Me neither.  Last time I used for car parts was those useless mongs at ATP - another set of morons who play it as much as they can.  Ebay came down on my side as usual when a DHL tracking number couldn't be provided, and "DHL lost it" was the excuse for not bothering to send it...   ...in fact my contact was saying they were looking to take ATP to court over deformation...

Deformation? The were bending the parts before sending them?  ;D

Oh dear, Mrs TB has just gone on a massive rant about egay sellers, and the number of cases she has open with egay.

I did chuckle, but had to get her to stop and take breath :D
