Hoping to move house at some point this year and parking four cars just isn't going to be feasible. I also know that the Silver Omega just doesn't get used and is really an ornament. Plan is to pop it in for an MOT then take the 6 pot brakes off it and return to standard setup along with the standard wheels and steering wheel, grill etc.

Once I get around to sorting that out i'll advertise it on here first, not that I think anyone would want to pay what I want for it. :(

I've had this car 15 Years, can't believe it!

A mate in Norn Irn was recently asking me if I knew of a nice V6 Omega for sale. Must be silver because the RUC ones were Silver and him being a retired member, is a bit sentimental about them in silver.
If you could let me know when it comes up for sale, I will mention it to him.
Cheers.  :y

Years ago it used to be normal practice when coming up  behind someone you wanted to get past, to give a quick non aggressive flash of the headlights, and more often than not they would move out of the way to let you past.
Do that these days, and someone might just force you off the road and stab you.  :(

Ive always loved the idea of the fun that could be had from a sleeper car.
Probably my ultimate one would have been the poverty spec prefacelift Omega, with Lotus Carlton running gear built by Omegatoy.
10 or more years ago I was told it had sat neglected on a driveway in Cambridge for several years, which set off dreams of buying it.
I heard not long after that the owner had sold the running gear when he got an offer he couldnt refuse.

The world now feels at least as dangerous as it did at the height of the cold war.  :(

I wouldnt just replace the balljoints (like I did). I found out after I did it that the balljoints actually dont tend to wear out, so if they aint broke dont fix them.
Rear bushes (if still readily available?) need pressing out  / in. It helps to put the new bushes in the freezer overnight, and gently heat the area of the arm they go into, just before fitting.

I must get a bottle of the pink magic potion from Lidl. The sticky buttons have driven me nuts for years.

Every chemist shop I go into seems to have four or five people working there. They can usually be heard chatting in the dispensary bit out the back of the shop.
Once in a while, one of them comes out front and serves a customer or two, no matter how long the queue or how long people have been stood waiting to be served.
It seems to be the standard model for Chemists that no other type of shop could get  away with for some strange reason.

Needs to be reported to the relevant authorities.  >:(

Boxster has been sat on the drive for 6 months with not much fuel in the tank. I fire it up for ten minutes once a fortnight and it runs fine.
I suspect the fuel I had in the can was already contaminated, but will never know.

Just read and cleared the code on the C1. P0420 - cat efficiency bank 1.
Could be a o2 sensor ? could need a cat ?  :-\

Might come to that. EML came on during the drive to work tonight.  ::) ;D

Half a dozen screws to remove the grill.  Disconnect battery, then two (allen bolts if my memory serves) under the airbag to remove it, then one large nut holding the steering wheel on.  bang the underside of the wheel each side in turn with your hands to free it. Careful it doesnt suddenly free itself from the shaft and whack you in the face.
Best to leave the nut loose but still on the shaft until the wheel is loose,
Then take the £200 for the rest and sell the grill and wheel on here or ebay.  :y

Just to (hopefully) finish up this one.
I have deliberately run the fuel level down to very low and left it parked up overnight for two nights.
This was expected to make it play silly buggers again, and I would then drain the tank, but it has run perfectly, so have now brimmed the tank.
I can only assume the can of petrol I tipped in the tank just before the problems started, was contaminated in some way and has now been completely used up.

On our most recent cruise, we heard that some old chap had been taken seriously ill so when we saw the Ambulance in port from our balcony we thought it was him being taken away. There was also an old lady sat crying in her wheelchair on the dock so we assumed it was her husband being taken away. We then heard that the old lady was nothing to do with the old chap, and that she’d been thrown off the cruise ship for being violent towards her own family and other passengers.  ;D
If ever I went on a cruise, knowing my luck, I would be couped up on a floating hotel with people like that.

I contemplated a cruise, but the more I think about it, the more I know its not for me.  I mean, I hate hotels with a passion.  A hotel you can't really escape from all day, every day, is just a prison ;D

My thoughts exactly.  :y
