Hi Guys,
A happy new year to one and all. 

After being away for 4 months the Omega started up first time, no problems.
However, last night I jumped out of the car and the reading light failed to go out. There are four lamps in the unit, I faffed around with it and as it was dark and raining I disconnected the battery. This morning I reconnected battery and the lights went back on. It is the back 2 lights in the unit that are on.
Anybody any ideas?

Reading lights only switch on using the buttons on the light unit

Just plugged unit back in and the reading/map light switches do not work either. Which 2 lamps are the courtesy ones and which are the reading map lamps?

LOL! Right! I have managed to get the reading lights to work and they are the front 2 lamps. So the back 2 lamps and the spots must be the courtesy lights. It is the back 2 lights I am having the problem with staying on.

The manual switch on the rear lights has three positions, OFF, ON, and ON when door opens.

he means the rear lamps in the front courtesy light ........ not the lamps in the rear of the car .....  I think

Correct AndyB. A cluster of 4 lamps are in the front courtesy light with I think a motion sensor. It is the back 2 lamps in the cluster that are staying on.

These are the lamps that are staying on all the time. I have since taken the lamps out to save my battery.
Any suggestions as to the problem would be much appreciated.

Have you tried lightly cleaning the PCB with switch cleaner, or could possibly be a dodgy switch on driver`s door pillar

Currently going through a similar scenario myself.   My probs started the same way with interior light staying on, irrespective of door open or closed or headlamp switch in/out. Battery would go flat and not hold a charge then when on a run, got disco dash lights and dead Rev counter/speedo when driving. And drivers electric seat failed (passenger side still works though).

Looks like a combination of knacked battery and equally knacked alternator.

Weather permitting, will resolve at the weekend.
