A few pics of mine taken last weekend at Colchester
« on: 24 September 2016, 23:05:04 »

I took a few pics of my two at the Colchester Classic Car Show, also attended by Nitro (a couple of his at the bottom).

My Steinmetz Elite

I have owned this one on and off since 2000, it's had 6 owners, three of them are me  ;D

Currently at a little of 163k

Standard Elite with Steinmetz bits and my own twist on model name. Before anyone grumbles about the 'show lights' they cut out as soon as the ignition is on but I do like them  :y

Ex-Hertfordshire V6 Special

I am the third owner of this one having bought it in 2005 and put about 12k on it since 2007. Up to nearly 176k now.

a few of the two together...

Nitro's ex-Met V6 Special

Nice pics James, and proof of where I was that day...think SWMBO was starting to get suspicious as to why I'm missing most weekends ;)

The show days are always a good day out, and with ABS membership they have the best contacts and knowledge concerning the shows,I have attended as many as possible throughout the summer with the R8 and one of the Omegas, and without organisations like them, then those GM marques that they represent will just struggle to be seen amongst the large amounts of other classics that attend these shows. It's just feels right when your car is in a line up of other VX cars rather than being sandwiched  between a Jaaag and a Morris Minor or even worse a F**d ;D

Thank you, the white one is in pretty much as good as it will get.

I am taking the sills of the silver one over the winter and hope I don't find any horrors :(

The ABS show season is nearly done now,but we were up in your neck of the woods a few weeks ago in Bury St Edmunds, and most of the shows that we attended were around Essex. All the shows were on their website, so if you are interested for next year check it out in 2017 :y or better still join the ABS and bring your car along.

I do like the Opel grille, much nicer than VX. Very nice cars, and a credit to you. :y

Thanks for the kind comments folks  :y

Cheers for the club support Ken, it's always nice to get to the shows, only just got back into it after a couple of years without mojo.

I think it's safe to say that one of mine would also be a target if left in the wrong place for too long  ;D

Im just wondering, those wheels on the plod estate are they specific for the police cars or normal equipment? I haven´t seen them Before.

The Police car was an early facelift Vx demonstrator (January 2000). The wheels are pre-facelift Omega CD wheels, later police cars with alloys had the 16" wheels from the CDX.

Nice! :y

Are there any real Steinmetz Omegas in the UK? Or just the ones with bodykits?

The Police car was an early facelift Vx demonstrator (January 2000). The wheels are pre-facelift Omega CD wheels X and Y plate 3.0s had steel 15"s with base hub caps, '51/'02 police cars with alloys had the 16" wheels from the CDX, '52 onwards had the 16" CD wheels. There's the odd exception of some late factory 3.2 Elites acquired by the Met for various duties...
