General Discussion Area / Perfect...
« on: 06 June 2010, 00:34:15 »
I get back home, somewhat the worse for wear, from the local beer festival, kebab in hand, and BBC 2 is wall to wall Led Zeppelin.

General Discussion Area / Fastest 4 Pot?
« on: 18 March 2010, 10:12:04 »
Gaffers' post reminded me of a project by a fellow Megasquirt forum member. OK, the seating position is probably similar, and that's about all, but it goes to show that adding internal combustion - just a teeny little 4-pot - makes things a tad more exciting - IMHO.

If you think you can get any appreciation of speed Vmax'ing an Omega you need to watch one of his videos 8-)

Those little orange things that keep flashing by are mile markers, I believe.

General Discussion Area / Epic piston fail!

OOPS!

Quote
The cylinder piston was ejected so violently from the cylinder pack that it travelled through the air and crashed through the roof of a nearby home where it imbedded itself in an interior wall.
OOPS!

General Discussion Area / Pictures of snow.. as is the fashion
« on: 08 January 2010, 14:04:33 »The A31 on Tuesday night, after 5 hours of snow.
A tree.
Bit of an arty lane scene that didn't work out.
Liked this one a bit better. Only light source is street lighting in the next road, hence the strange colour cast on all of these photos. Light was too low to meter so I just took a stab at it.
Couple of light trails from people being towed up the hill.
Some lucky car driver just uncoupling from the 4x4 that's just rescued her. Lorry drivers bedded down for the night further along.
Snow plough and gritter doing their thing, and rescuing a car in the process. Lens is starting to get a bit snowy.
Mrs. KW making a "snow angel".
Travelodge doing a roaring trade, no doubt.
The morning after.. Spot the MV6.
WFH today perhaps? I think so!
One for Lizzie, as always.
Chez Wood supporting quite a bit of snow now.
Not going anywhere.
Yesterday morning and things are a bit brighter.
Another tree.
And a few more for Lizzie.

So, I'm prowling round the house looking for things to photograph, and what did I find in my salad?

I went to a lecture by the flight engineer in these vids a year or two ago. Some very interesting stories to tell.

General Discussion Area / Finally.. a good analysis of horsepower and torque
« on: 30 January 2009, 12:36:25 »
The best one I've seen, in fact.

Some amunition for those "Yes, but my car's faster 'cos it's got more torque" pub arguments.
