Side mirror question
« on: 05 July 2017, 17:15:32 »

Hi guys, almost had a crash today, but managed to escape with driver side mirror glass broken only (blo..y Italian old lady >:( )  Searching trough Ebay, all the mirrors are listed as estate or saloon... I forgot,  is there a difference between those at all?
And if someone has one laying around...I'd really need one for a reasonable price - UK passenger side heated mirror glass with mounting.
Thanks

Nope, the same between saloon and estate.

Different between PFL and FL. Different between LHD and RHD.  And I believe some of the PFL poverty models didn't have heaters.

I thought there was a difference, electrically, between Elites with memory settings & others.  :-\

There is, but that difference is a few extra wires at the otherwise identical plug... will still plug in and work as per the vehicle it is fitted to.

The key difference is that lhd and rhd mirrors are different... the plastics are all the same but the passenger mirror structure has a different angle to give the correct perspective to the driver. This is true of most cars... look down at the front of the car from an upstairs window and it will be clear :y

I wake up some mornings to find my mirror scattered all over the road.
I have a box of broken mirror parts somewhere.....I've lost count of the number of mirrors smashed by passing vehicles. >:( >:( >:(

That happens a lot on my road too,I've put three on my Elite so far and some neighbours have had to replace theirs also.
