Omega General Help / Errors P0130 and P0150 on Motronic 2.8.3
« on: 02 July 2010, 19:01:15 »
Hi

These are the errors I get.
P0550 - Power Steering Voltage High   - Not Connected on my car-
 (01) - Present

P0130 - O2 Sensor 1 Open Circuit
 (04) - Not present
P0150 - O2 Sensor 2 Open Circuit
 (04) - Not present

Now the whole story :)
Ok I switched to a Motronic M2.8.3 from a Vectra( Had a 2.8.1 from a Omega). When Cruising at higway speeds the EML comes on when you lift of the throttle ever so slightly,if you put your foot down the light goes out. I have some live data from the ECU and I can see that both O2 Sensors go from Closed loop to Open  and the mv readings drop to 0. I know these errors can be caused by faulty sensors, but I never had a EML light on the 2.8.1 ECU . Does the Omega use different O2 sensors than the Vectra ?

I also had a problem with the elbow that runs form the intake to the brake booster, it broke when the pipe was removed so all I could do was to use some Q Bond with the filling powder. Now im thinking maybe I have a vacuum leak on that elbow thats causing the errors to show up, or a leak on the exhaust system. We checked the wiring but could not find any problems.

Omega General Help / Getting the most out of the 3.2
« on: 09 May 2010, 18:40:24 »
Hope this is the right section  ;)

Hi

I would like some more info about what will work to get more power out of the 3.2 .
Currently I do have a Unichip Q+ installed , at the time it was mapped there was a leak on both exhaust manifolds , the valves on the intake were swapped around and I had a 4bar FPR connected to the wrong reference port ( I know I feel like a Idiot  ). Went back to the 3Bar fpr and connected it to the correct reference port just under the TPS . Replaced the Exhaust manifold gaskets . Valves on the intake were connected correctly .

Heres more info on my current setup .
Z32SE motor its still standard
Motronic 2.8.1 with Unichip Q+
3 Bar FPR
K&N FP Filter
216CC X25XE injectors
Light Flywheel
Magnecor 8.5MM Leads
Vectra B Intake Manifold
57MM Freeflow SS Exhaust
F18CR Gearbox
205/40/17 Wheels

The tunner only mapped the car to 5500rpm and gave me a story about the wheels spinning on the dyno since the car is to light for the power and the power started to drop off at 5500rpm, I call that BS  . I lost a few BHP as you can see  :(

Torque Graph doesnt look right too me , suspect its because the valves were swapped and the bad tunning  >:(

What I would like to do is fit a 63mm exhaust with custom headers , maybe get a set of hi torque cams , fit a 3.8 Bar fpr or refit the 4.0Bar since its a 3.2l or will this overfuel the car ? Would also like to get a F28 or maybe even a F18WR gearbox to give it some longer legs , will the 3.2 benefit from this ? Possibly getting a 2.8.3 ECU and a loom form a Vectra 2.5 GSi , will this be better than the 2.8.1 setup I have ? Planning a CAI just need to find the correct place for the pipe .

What other info and advice can you guys offer me , very hard to get performance parts here since everything needs to be imported for this motor . Are the cams worth the money and should I try to get a bigger TB and lower divider ?

Thank You  :y

Omega General Help / Z32SE Missfire/Stuttering hot startup
« on: 29 April 2010, 06:57:37 »
Hi Guys

This is realy getting to me the car runs fine till you stop to put in some petrol or just stop at the mall . As soon as you start the car when its still at operating temprature and drive off it stutters/missfires almost as if its loosing spark or not getting fuel , the strange thing is when you put your fut down hard and it gets past 3500 rpm its fine and doesnt do it again till you switch off again , I have noticed the same simptoms when the car is first started in the morning but I dont drive it hard then I just wait for it to get up to temp and then its ok . Tested it by just driving under 3000 rpm then it goes away after about 1km . I have no fault codes stored and no EML light , have new plugs , leads and ect installed . Now im thinking it might be a lamda sensor , coilpack , tps or the ecu itself or even the crank sensor or cam sensor . I have a x30xe Motronic 2.8 ecu as spare that I can test but I would like to know what you guys think . What I dont get is that it goes just fine thats the only problem I have at the moment . Went back to the 3 bar fpr and we did test for leaks on the intake but there are none , had a leak on both exhaust manifolds thats sorted now . I know its hard to explain so I hope I got it right  :-?

Will try to get a video of what its doing , but heres one I did in 3rd gear from 40 to 120 kph . As you can see its running ok

Omega General Help / Z32se performance camshafts
« on: 21 April 2010, 10:50:35 »
Hi

Just want to make 100% sure that it will work , sent a mail to piper asking them if the opv6bp270hb cams they have for the x30xe will work on the z32se motor . Looks like im in luck because they let me know that it would work , now its just to save up for a set  . Did any of you guys do this mod , do you think that I would get a nice gain in power since I'm looking for more torque  . After I fit them I can have the Unichip Q remaped to get the best out of them .

Thank You

Omega General Help / 3.2 V6 Crankshaft bolt removal
« on: 20 April 2010, 09:01:09 »
Hi

I need to replace the front crankshaft oil seal on the 3.2 . The problem is we dont have a pneumatic wrench and we have tried to leave the car in gear with someone applying the brakes but we could not get it to budge . Some guys talk about using a strongbar thats jammed up against the chassis and with the coilpack disconnected swing the motor for 1/2 a second to loosen it , but how safe is that . Heres a picture of my problem .

Omega General Help / Over fueling symptoms
« on: 25 March 2010, 08:54:13 »
Hi

This is starting to do my head in  :( . When the car has warmed up to normal operating temprature and you stop and switch off , either for getting something at the shops or for refueling as soon as you get back in and start the car it hesitates like its not getting fuel . And you can smell its overfueling form inside the car , this carries on for about a minute or so then its gone or until you floor it and it gets above 4000 rpm then its fine  :-/ . Fuel pressure is steady at 3.9 bar , have a new fuel filter and pump installed , with the vac pipe on the reg removed it reads 4.3bar . Thinking its the ECT sensor acting up . Its a z32se running a x25xe intake with a motronic 2.8.1 ecu no faults logged .

Any ideas guys ?

Thank YOu

Omega General Help / Motronic 2.8.1 Traction Control question
« on: 14 March 2010, 18:13:40 »
Hi

Just want to know , my car came without ABS and TC . Now since most of you guys know I have a z32se motor with the vectra x25xe intake and the Motronic 2.8.1 ecu from a omega in my Kadett . Can the fact that I dont have the TC or ABS in any way cause any performance problems ? Been told by a guy that the ecu will hold the engine back a bit , but I asked him how it can that be if the Motronic ECU needs data from the ABS / TC ecu to make it work ( thats how I think it works ). Please tell me that my theory is correct .

Thank You

Omega General Help / Strange problem when car gets hot
« on: 10 February 2010, 17:16:09 »
Hi

How are you guys doing ? . Been a while since I have been here . When was on here last my car still had the x25xe installed . Now im running a Z32se from a Vectra C  :) . Im still using the Motronic 2.8.1 ecu from a Omega B .

Heres my problem when you drive the car and the fans kick in its fine no powerloss or hesetation . But as soon as you switch it off and start it again with the fans comming on as you start , it hesetates and feels like it does not have any power  :( . As soon as the fans go off its better . Thinking that it might be my ECT/CTS sensor acting up . Anyone had something like this before ? . The EML light does not come on and I have no error codes stored .

Thank You

Omega General Help / Will This Ecu Work ?
« on: 15 June 2009, 18:38:41 »
Hi

Ok i got my SAI sorted with the motronic 2.8.1  :y . Now i got this extra ecu but i dont know if it will work with the valves on the intake . Numbers on it are 90 457 098 & 0 261 203 272/273   FS . I had it in the car when i used the C25XE intake , using a Vectra B X25XE intale now . Just want to test it because i cant get those valves to work  :-? , but i need to know if this ecu supports them .

Thank You

Hi

i know this has been talked about before , i have read the posts that explain how to do it . I need to bypass the secondary air injection system , the thing is i got to a point where if you reset the fault the light is dead till the car warms up then you can hear the realy switch off , then the engine check light comes on . the wires i have dont all match up to the colors shown on autodata . Using a motronic 2.8.1 ecu from a omega b x25xe
Relay is a  90491314 - Bosch 0332209136 SAI Relay
Relay Plug

Two plugs in the engine bay

85 is connected to a red/blue wire
86 goes to pin 26 on the ecu  brown/violet
87 is a thick black wire , when the car is running it has a reading of 12v , shut off the car then its like a earth .
30 has 2 wires look like a brown/white and a brown/yellow  both of these go to the plugs in the engine bay , one on each plug .

on the plugs self one has the brown/white and a brown wire , the other one brown/yellow with a brown wire . both the brown wires are earth wires . i know im missing the wire on 87a witch is a earth . could it be that i have the wrong relay , why would the solenoid need to be connected if there is no wire back to the ecu , how does the ecu know its not there  :-? .

Please help .
